Signing in with OpenID can result in a loss of your topic's details
Logging into open id resets the question/problem/idea/prasie that was in progress.
If you fill out a question/idea/problem or praise report and then at the bottom login by open id. It brings you back to a blank report. Thus anything you typed is lost forever. Bad form.

I'm pleased to say this issue has been completely resolved in our latest release. In this release we now also support all the major identity services for logging in, and have simplified the process for OpenID.

Inappropriate?Yes, this is a problem we're aware of. Unfortunately, OpenID wants to take you away from our site. We're still working on a way to get around this limitation, and I'll definitely let our developers know that you had a sub-par experience with using our site and OpenID.

Inappropriate?I just had this with adding a comment as well, although I'm not too fussed about that because it's only one text box (and I was warned, so I could copy it to the clipboard—that's a nice touch).
I’m fine, really. Little bit hungry.

Inappropriate?Yes just had this happen today. Very frustrating. Ended up logging in on another tab and then copy/pasting info across.

Inappropriate? This is actually a duplicate of Let me sign-in without losing the post I just wrote., I suggest the topics be merged.

Inappropriate?Get Satisfaction will lose your data if you login with OpenId after sumbitting a suggestion or issue. FAIL.

Limitations in the protocol affect logging into Get Satisfaction using OpenID.. -
Inappropriate? The happens to be on a regular basis. Here are my steps:
1. I want to make a comment or start a new post
2. I write the entire thing out
3. It's not until I'm finished GetSatisfaction reminds me that I need to be signed-in
4. Since I use openID GetSatisfaction tells me that I'm going to lose everything I just wrote when I leave the current page to sign-in.
5. Now I have a few options: a) give up b) sign-in and retype the whole thing c) copy&paste what I wrote so I can easily re-enter it later.
Note there is another annoying problem with option c. GetSatisfaction makes it look like I can select text, but I can't. I actually thought my browser crashed for a second, but then I realized I needed to cancel out of the current sign-in popup before I could select the text on the page.
This is really annoying since I forget that this happens almost every time I write a post... then after I'm all done sharing my thoughts I'm told I'll have to retype them again.
I spent a reasonable amount of effort sharing this issue with you. If you made me retype the whole thing again it'd be a major nuisance. Fortunately I already am signed-in since you just made me after I tried posting elsewhere.

Inappropriate?Howdy folks,
We are getting killed by our customers on the post and reply box and the login requirement, and what I'd consider to be a design issue that's causing our customers data loss.
We have two groups of customers, one for a public site, where we don't have the concept of an account for the site (we aren't even collecting an email address anymore, except for certain functions) - and a set of internal customers that do have accounts. Those internal customers have an OpenID enabled account - and we encourage them to use their "eXtension" provided OpenID for third-parties, including Get Satisfaction.
Both sets of customers - but particularly the internal set with the OpenID's are getting frustrated when they go to post a new topic (or reply to an existing one) - enter all of the information, and then use the OpenID login, only to lose everything they entered because of the OpenID round-trip/redirect requirements.
It's even happened to me when I go to reply, forget I'm not logged in, and have to go copy/paste my response before I dare click the OpenID login.
I didn't think this was happening to the folks just "signing up" with an email/password - but we had this problem report today:
http://getsatisfaction.com/extension/...
and from what I can tell that should have been an "email/password account" person - unless they used a third-party OpenID or Windows Live or something similar and shouldn't have had data loss, but they sure reported one. And when we are getting feelings like SUPER FRUSTRATED - that are probably as much or more about this data loss issue as they are the actual problem report.
We have some design issues ourselves, we've integrated links to GS and the widgets in a way that it's not clear that the person is leaving a extension.org-managed property and off to a third-party - we have this dual-customer issue - and others.
But this data loss on post/reply due to login is really getting us - and we are likely going to dump Get Satisfaction after our current Basic Year is up because of it (and perhaps because of our own failure to integrate GS well), we went to Get Satisfaction because you guys offer an experience/tool set we couldn't easily develop ourselves, and none of the off-the-shelf packages have.
But maybe you can do something/anything to help :-)
1) Save the posted information with session or keyed cookie and let it survive the OpenID login.
2) Don't show reply or post *at all* until they login
2a) Or give me a "company" setting to where I could set #2 for my company.
3) I know you are pimping your "integrated login" for premium users - but heck, that's why we do OpenID in the first place. Per company controls for OpenID or just dealing with the data loss issue would be good - we'll still take the heat for the usability of OpenID.
Help us out a little or point me in a direction to where I can minimize this, on our current plan, for my customers.

Inappropriate?Firefox users can install Lazarus and recover the form after signing in. Obviously not a fix, but well worth knowing about!

Was reading from iPhone, so I didn't see that the title had been edited since I received the e-mail. :x -
Inappropriate?I just posted a question to the Typekit support account and at the end it asked me to login. Since I have OpenID I chose that option and it took me to a different page. Slightly wary, I did so, since I was half expecting the question text to vanish. Confident you'd save it in the session, or somewhere, I continued.
I logged in fine and the system redirected me back to my enter question page. However, much to my surprise the question text was gone. Somewhat annoying after spending so much time carefully crafting it!
Could you check this out please and ensure question text (and other fields like how do you feel) are stored somewhere so when I next login via OpenID after posing a question my text is saved.
That would make me feel very happy :)

Thanks for the screen cap, Chris. We have a fix in that should be deployed tonight. -
Inappropriate? It would be nice if there was an other logins tab on my account's page so I could add more logins without having to log out and log in with the alternate, like Chris was doing.

Inappropriate?Yes, we'll be rolling out an identities management page shortly that allows you to do just that, Thomas. That will be much nicer :)
