Inappropriate? We just went live with that new home page, so thanks for reporting this. May I ask which browser and version of browser you're using? Thanks!
-
somehow when I reported this same problem I didn't get this entry in the suggestion list so I reported a double... I reported 5 major browsers and their versions and also suggested a solution as well: http://getsatisfaction.com/getsatisfa... -
Thanks for the screenshot, btw. Very helpful. -
Inappropriate? Thanks. So, that's one vote for Chrome, the beta browser for Windows. Let me know if this is happening with any other browsers. I'll have our team take a look ASAP.
-
Inappropriate? The same happens in Internet Explorer 8 and Firefox as well, both Windows...
Beta browser? -.^ -
Inappropriate?Great. Thank you. Very helpful. We'll try to get this fixed quickly.
-
Inappropriate?I have Firefox, dunno what version, on Windows XP.
-
Not sure if you guys fixed it yet or if it's just the fact that I'm on a different computer, but I'm not seeing the problem on my Snow Leopard Mac using Firefox. -
Inappropriate?Hi All. Sorry for the inconvenience. This is in the queue to get fixed.
-
Inappropriate?Just for completeness, I am also using Chrome on XP.
-
Inappropriate?Slightly off-topic but now I'm getting an error message from vimeo indicating the video on the homepage is no longer available.
-
Inappropriate?Off-topic is fine! Thanks. We'll check this out right away!

Inappropriate? You have a bug! If you are on the home page and you click the "log in" link the RPX interface falls *behind* the movie (this happens on the "about us" as well). so if the user wishes to use any method other_than_username they cannot. Also the page hangs and you have to reload it.

I’m sad

Thanks for reporting it. -
Inappropriate? On you frontpage when you click the login link it pops up behind your promotional video and prevents you from logging in. I had to find a page without any videos on it to click the login link from. Small bug, but a pain none the less.

I’m happy

Inappropriate?Just swap the video with the text. Move the video to the left-side out from under the search field and move the text to the right-side. It's temporary fix, but at least the search field can be used. It's been one month.
I’m bewildered
-
You make a good point. I'll pass this on to the team. -
Inappropriate?i just used fire bug to try a fix for this Just change the Wmode value of the flash object to opaque. it's a 20 second fix at most.
just add: wmode="opaque"
any where in the embed code of the video.
hope it helps
-
Thanks, omcentire. Would be awesome if it turns out to be that simple. Our team is taking a look at this. Fingers crossed it can get done today. -
The fix is in. Just pending deploy. Thanks for your help. -
hey no problem. I suppose that's the whole point of having a support community! -
Inappropriate?Happy to report that this has been dug into and fixed and shouldn't be a problem after the next deploy. Many thanks to all of you who helped out with browser reports and advice on this one.
I’m happy
The company and 1 other person say
this solves the problem
-
you should probably mark this as the company answer... ;) -
Inappropriate?Thought you guys would like to know - the Flash video you have embedded on your home page creates a big problem when attempting to sign up, log in, or search. As you'll see, your modal HTML windows pop up *below* the Flash video, making it impossible to do anything. I tried signing up, but was confounded by this problem. But - there's a solution!
All you have to do to fix this is a WMODE param of "transparent" to the Flash object. Then, all of your HTML content will display nicely above your Flash stuff. Hope this helps. Let me know when it's fixed, and I'll try signing up again :)

I’m frustrated

Inappropriate? On your main page the login box is covered by the stupid video, as is the search drop-down list. Using Firefox 3.5. I see others are reporting the search drop-down issue, but not the login issue.
FWIW, login to Get Satisfaction has ALWAYS been a royal PITA. I'd never use your service for that reason alone. I'm sure I'd spend more time helping customers login to your service than helping their support issues.

Login covered by video. -
Inappropriate? On your front page your (new) video sit ontop of the search drop down box. So its very hard to search for companies and 'get satisfaction'.

I’m annoyed

Inappropriate? As Eric said above, the fix for this will go live in an upcoming deploy. However, in the meantime, please remember that you can click to any other page of our site and use our Company/Product search field in the top right corner and you can log in from any other page.
