Inappropriate?Champions are customers who are awesome. It's a way for companies to reward and call out their most helpful customers.

Eric
Awesome huh??? That's a first for me at least... Maybe you were talking about someone else perhaps? LOL Too bad my badge is only a YOLA thing
P.S. Amy I caught the webcast a day or so later and I must say that you are quite the attractive young lady with a wonderful speaking voice. Very warm, knowledgeable and precise... Excellent choice for whoever placed you in that role.
Ed
Hmmm I wonder how many Champs there are and who was the first? It is that I only really heard about them when I became one and I was wondering... -
Thanks, Ed. I'm a co-founder of Get Satisfaction and the Chief Community Officer so I guess I placed myself in that role. :) I appreciate the kind thoughts and I'm glad you enjoyed the webcast.
You were certainly among the first. We've only set the feature up for a handful of customers and YOLA (formerly Synthasite, for those who don't know about the name change yet) was one of them. -
Any special privilege for champion?
or it is only a award kind of thing. -
I don't believe there any special abilities at this point, but we've thought about it. We could add the ability to mark official answers, although I'd like to see something unique to Champions. -
Inappropriate?can you make champions with the bog standard free non member account thingy?
-
Inappropriate? The Champions feature is available for all paid accounts, but not for free accounts.
-
oh, ok.
thanks Eric!
also... How many champions can a company have?
al -
Currently, there's no limit. One thing to note, though, is that the champions feature is in private beta still. If a paying company is interested in this they can get in touch with us via email at support [at] getsatisfaction [dot] com. -
brill, thanks amy! -
no problem! :) -
Inappropriate? Can I get the Champion feature on my free account for being a GetSatisfaction.com champion?
I’m happy
-
Well, hypothetically, if you were a Get Satisfaction Champion and spreading awesomeness around our community and helping our customers, we'd probably consider it. :) -
Inappropriate? Is this denoted anywhere on topics in our company where the 'champion' posts a response? Or when they ask a question? It might be need to have a 'champion' avatar overlay similar to the Employee overlay, but in a different color so it's clearly different.
I’m happy
-
Ah, I guess I figured this would show up with any activity they create within our topics. The user "Cody" here is a champion but their avatar doesn't get the overlay. -
Ah, I see. It takes a special favicon-style icon in the admin section. I've added that for you. However, it's still not showing up. Maybe this has something to do with our new default avatar. Maybe if someone hasn't chosen an avatar it becomes a problem. Have to dig in. -
Okay, I think I have it figured out. Should be showing up now. -
Inappropriate? With this feature can you rename the term 'Champion' to something else or is this fixed like 'Employee'? Also Is it possible to have a second level of 'champion' to further distinguish VIP members?
I’m unsure
-
Inappropriate? The Champion label isn't changeable. (The avatar has the word "Champ" on it.) We don't have a second level of Champs. Sounds like you'd prefer it if you could make many different labels.

Inappropriate?Hi Matt,
As Eric says, "Champion" is a fixed title. However, we are working on a alternate level of Champion that allows the company to grant them moderation rights.

Inappropriate? Thanks guys - customisable 'Champions' would be great - I'm looking for something with 2 tiers of community 'expert' but Champions will do for now!
-
Inappropriate? How easy is it for other community members to find and identify Champions? Also is it possible for a member to request an 'upgrade' to chmapion status - how would they go about doing this?
-
Inappropriate?I don't see an easy way to find champions outside of the champions' comments and topics. It would be neat if you could go to getsatisfaction.com/companyname/champions and see the list of champions. Come to think of it, it'd be neat to be able to do this with employees, too.
I guess if someone wanted to ask to be a champion they could suggest it as an idea? Kind of awkward to do that in public, though.
I’m not very helpful today
-
Inappropriate? You should be able to see all employees and champions of a company on the People page. They all sit together. For example: http://getsatisfaction.com/getsatisfa...
-
Inappropriate?Jamie: You should be able to see a combined list of employees and champions on a People page. For example: http://getsatisfaction.com/getsatisfa...
We don't have a way for customers to request Champion status. I suppose they could start a topic asking this. That would show some initiative! -
Gotcha, thanks! -
Inappropriate?FYI, you can find the People page for any community in the dropdown community sub navigation like so:
-
Inappropriate?any way to filter out just the 'Champions'? I'm trying to thinkg of a way to make it easier for a community member to find an expert in an environment where the first port of call would be a champion rather than a customer.
I’m unsure
-
Inappropriate?I guess I'm not following you, Matt. The People page doesn't list customers. It lists Employees and Champions. But you'd like to see a page that just lists Champions?
Or are you talking about the user experience somewhere other than the People page? -
Inappropriate?the people page is fine - just wanted a way to make it easy for customers to contact a champion first over an employee - obvious way round it is not to list any employees I guess.
on a slightly different tack, is there any way to search for 'people' either employee or champion? -
Inappropriate?Well, the thing is, there's currently no way to "contact" any particular person. You can follow them and they'll be notified via an email notification that you're doing so. But you can just post topics in the community for all to see. It's up to the group of employees and champions to have a process for who responds to what.
You can search for people from your Contacts page in your user account settings. You'll see a "Find People" link there -- however that is Get Satisfaction site-wide, not community specific. -
Inappropriate?OK - probably getting off topic now but do you think it would be possible to create a searchable 'custom' directory via the API to do this? ie allow a customer to search for and contact a champion directly with a specific question?
-
Inappropriate?Hmmm.... Good question. One issue I can see with this, though, is that we don't reveal email addresses via the API so I'm still not sure how someone would contact a specific other person?
You should probably ask that as a new question and I'll try to get a developer to respond with more insight. :)
