In the terrain view of Israel, hebrew place names are only in hebrew script
Take a look at the terrain view of northern Israel and its neighbours :
http://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&q=i...
Notice that :
- Syrian place names are in latin script only
- Lebanese place names are in both arabic script and latin script
- Israeli place names are in hebrew script only
Of course, for a European user, the Israeli situation is the least convenient.
It is quite strange that in the map and satellite views, Israeli place names are in latin script only. Using both local and latin script like in Lebanon for every place would make much more sense in my opinion. The only drawback is that the names layer is a bit too bulky, so maybe an option to switch between local and latin script would be best.
