Push e-mail and calendar for Google Notifier

Given the news about push email, contacts and calendars for iPhone, would it be possible to get push notifications in Google Notifier?

I can see that the mac program hasn't been updated since 2006, but it's still useful to me and I'm sure hundreds of thousands of other mac users.

Thanks for developing it and I'd love to see push notifications make their way into notifier.
