Social features are nice, BUT basics first

Google reader is clearly the king of feed readers, and all the social features are nice bonuses BUT I imagine more likely then not most people would prefer more nuts and bolts features. Such as....

1. Easier way to (re)organize their folders, filters, and feeds. (MAJOR) Current interface just does not cut it.

2. Ability to assign specific views to different folders. Some folders I would like to use the list view, and others I would like the expanded view.

3. In the same vein as the above suggestion, I would like to see an ability to assign if the items are marked as read by scrolling past or clicking per folder instead of a universal setting.

4. Block/Warn duplicate feeds from being added.

5. Better media views for picture and video feeds.

6. Warn if Google reader can't display an embedded item. I have missed many embedded items because I didn't know it was attached to a post because I didn't click through to the original page.

7. Support for displaying FAVICONS.

8. Better special views depending on feed type, such as feeds from twitter. I suggest a poll asking which people prefer, social features or nuts and bolts and I think you will find many people don't use the social features as much.
