How do you dictate which users get "email this ticket as important" notices?
I have never been able to figure out which users get (and thus be able to dictate who gets) the email notices when a new ticket is marked with the "email this ticket as important".
I wondered if the recipient list is somehow related to user profile levels... but I've noticed that all my users in a project are "admin", yet not all get the notices when a ticket in said project is marked to be "emailed as important".
I would like for only certain people in a project be notified about important tickets... not everyone and her grandma (from the owners to the intern).

Inappropriate?Items marked as "email as important" will be received by anyone in the project that, in their notifications Preferences, marked the "Important" option for the project.
If you wish to only notify specific people (with that option) and not all, you can simply add "@useralias" to item descriptions/texts. This will notify those people mentioned through the "@useralias", if they have the "Important" option marked.
Don't forget that people with the "Real Time" option will receive notifications for all items. -
Sócrates, this sounds great but in which *field* do I enter @useralias? In tags? -
Hey Jonathan, you'd add "@useralias" to the item's description. Sorry about this not being that obvious. We'll try to make it more straight-forward. Thanks for your feedback. -

So, like this, yes?...

Seems kind of messy having addressees in the description text. I prefer Basecamp's 'check a person' from a list of project people approach. -
The inline help [?] isn't clear about Real time being for all items. It should say ". Receive updates of all activity in the project in real time or as a daily digest." -
Inappropriate?Ah, thanks. If a user selects "no email notifications", does that mean they don't get emails when assigned a ticket or task... or just no emails for other project-related notices?
Also, it seems you can only dictate this across ALL projects (under account settings), not on a project-by-project basis... what if you need all notifications in one project but not another? -
Inappropriate? If users chose not to receive email notifications they will not be notified of any activity, unless they stil have the "important" option marked (which means they will receive notifications for the creation of items marked as important).
In Goplan 2 (http://goplanapp.com) it is possible to fine tune these settings for each project in the Preferences pane. :)
