Spots merged?
A friend and I accidentally each created (at the same time, no less) a spot for the Union Underground on UT. We thought we'd ask that they be merged, but it looks like, before we did, they got merged with the Union as a whole.
It might be that the Union just needs to be moved or radius increased (we were too far away from the spot to check in while at the Underground), but we both sort of felt like the Underground is distinct enough from the Union to warrant its own spot.
I just thought I'd bring it up here for discussion. What's the policy/thinking on this?

Inappropriate?Go for it! Create the additional spot, just make sure it doesn't have an identical name, and I'll beef up the other one.

Inappropriate?I would also recommend adding a cool description to your spot (include a special tidbit). That may help dissuade anyone from thinking it's a duplicate.

Inappropriate?Ben – been trying to get ahold of you for some time regarding this.
As it turns out, I merged the two spots into The Texas Union spot. They were both within a few meters of the original (which was set to, what I considered, an ample radius) with the one you created literally overlapping the original.
I updated the description to the original spot to include the fact that there is bowling, billiards, etc in the same building, known as The Union Underground. I merged the first with no hesitation as it was categorized as the Student Center as the original. Yours was the debated merge as you categorized it under Bowling. I couldn't get in touch with you, so I discussed it with two UT Alums and they agreed that a single spot be used to represent all facets the building has to offer (again, another reason I enhanced the description).
If you feel that isn't enough and really would like a spot specifically for The Union Underground, I apologize for merging the two and whole-heartedly think you should create the spot anew.
I didn't mean to step on any toes.
Happy Gowall'ing!

I sent you an @ on Twitter and you can ping me there, if you like. Else there's contact information on benhamill.com. No hard feelings. With the enhanced description, I actually feel like having just the one spot should do fine. I'll see about testing next week if, when I'm at the bowling lanes, I can check into the Union. It reads as 3 GPS bars, but it might be lying about accuracy since it's, you know, under ground.
No hard feelings about the merge. It's good to keep an open discussion about things. Thanks for explaining.
