Roadies, Survivor and Apprentice (oh, my!)
This has been brought up in a couple of other threads, I just thought I'd give it its own thread in the hopes of getting some resolution...
What should we do with the shows which are pre-recorded? A very quick google search netted me the winners of Roadies, Apprentice and Biggest Loser. (I didn't look for Survivor since I didn't want to spoil it for me, but I'm sure its even easier to find)
The survivor questions seem to have naturally died off as it became clear that people were using spoilers for predictions, but there are still lively markets going on in other shows.
Its sad to have to cut out such a huge market of questions, but they are just way too easy to game and seem less fun for those of us who don't want to spoil. I think we (read: you, hubdub) need to make a policy on these type of shows. Perhaps we can try to restrict ourselves to the live shows? (AI, Dancing, etc)

Inappropriate?i agree, Q's on pre-recorded shows should be banned...a search of settled roadies questions all show unusually high percentages of correct votes - 94,98,97,88,92,&97 and every single one is correct, usually with what appears to be one HUGE bet on most questions...while i do think hubdubbers can be pretty accurate a 100% accuracy rate on a variety of Q's does not seem on the up and up to me...either inside info or suspension after results are known are more likely...especially considering the past of one particular fan of roadies

Inappropriate?i agree with jenni..any reality or pre recorded show not done live should not be allowed to be wagered on so the finale of survivor which is live would be allowed as would any other live event (i.e.-american idol). Some people could take advantage of the ability to make questions and wager on the answer with the knowledge already known and thereby build up their hubdub money very easily. Destry knew all the survivor stuff which cost me thousands to finally believe but he did not take advantage of his knowledge to continue to create questions. As far as people making money on specific questions with the seeming knowledge of the answer we really should not blame the person doing it..it is up to the staff to say this is enough and it is obvious what is going on and we will not allow it anymore either by removing the participant or not allowing the questions or both..if they are allowing it to happen then the person is not breaking the rules..they have already stated the questions can continue so why would they stop?..i just find it interesting that most people see whats going on with some questions but they are alowed to continue while other seemingly legit questions which should cause no controversy at all are redefined or voided or whatever..now back to my dungeon i go -
Inappropriate?I have said over and over again that these questions should be banned. I email Tisha daily asking her to void them all. I found the survivor spoilers and posted them in the comment section of each question so all would know. I asked for all of them to be voided. I could have made mad money, but I would rather slowly move up leaderboard than move up by gaming site. I have to say I like being in top 5 (and it sucks that I am in 6th thanks to a gamer).
And crudsy would you please add me as a friend. I have everyone else on the leaderboard top 15 on there, but you. I hate having to check site wide leaderboards to see how great you are doing.

Inappropriate?;)..i'm superstitious..nothing personal..i never had friend board b4 im not gonna start now..just like i wager very little on questions about myself or my standings..bad karma..but i will say it is very unfair that a person like destry who could make a killing but doesnt and in fact let others know about survivor is behind some others but as i stated b4 that is on the adminstrators not the person..i am hoping at some point that they see allowing that to continue will hurt them in the long run by losing someone like destry who is good for the site

Inappropriate?Thank you crudsy. Hopefully Hubdub finds a way to let me add crudsy even though he don't add me. I propose a 3 strike rule for gamers. Strike one a warning posted on thier profile that is available for all users to see, only removed after 30 days of no gaming activity. Strike two thier account reset to initial starting balance and a 7 day period of no wagering. Strike three a complete ban of thier IP. I believe that all funds from gaming questions should be removed and immediately. I think gamers should also be limited from creating questions as well.

Inappropriate?I have previously been voiding Roadies questions based on suspicious prediction patterns, and have tried bringing the suspension date forward. However, there is now a blanket ban on these questions due to their contentious history.
Other tv show questions will continue to be determined on a case-by-case basis.
I am disappointed by users who create questions which are predetermined - this is clearly against the spirit of the site and it breaches the trust of the editors and other users.

Inappropriate?This should not be a pick on satyaki thread. He got caught and is assuredly on a watchlist. Let Hubdub do their job and lets give him the benefit of the doubt for now.
That said, Tisha I'm glad you're being more agressive about these. But its not neccessarily the creator who is gaming... I would have gladly created Survivor questions since I love the show and really wanted to see how we could have predicted something like that. I have no intention to find any Survivor spoilers so any questions I made would have been in good faith. You can't judge the integriy of the creator by the question or the integrity of the question by the creator.
Now that Roadies is out of the way, I'll just mention again that Apprentice and Biggest Loser spoilers exist as well. I think its somewhat unfair to eliminate the Roadies questions and not the others...
Some official guidance should probably exist in the rules for people new to the site wondering why there are no Survivor questions.

I Vote NO. Infact, think of it this way: voting on the outcome of an episode of a show is hardly newsworthy(though I'm sure some sites report on it). Maybe a question on the final winner which suspends at least 10 days before the episode is fine -
Inappropriate?i brought up Roadies questions more than 2 weeks ago. that was at least two weeks after satyaki was penalized for gaming-type behaviour. the tone here may be related to a perception that the warning was laughed off, and behaviour didn't change.
as for pre-recorded shows, they have to be banned. this goes for Lost plot twists as well as survivor etc. -
Inappropriate?Thanks for the comments and discussion on this issue. Questions on pre-recorded TV shows where the outcomes are known in advance are now officially banned.
This is to maintain consistency with the Roadies ruling. It is a shame because I enjoyed reading the discussions on show questions, but it is obviously too easy to find spoilers and too difficult to monitor all questions for signs of gaming.
Some of the questions this will affect are Lost, Survivor and Make Me a Supermodel, although the ban is obviously on plot/vote off outcomes rather than the show per se.
Shows on which questions will still be allowed include American Idol and Dancing With The Stars.
Now it's back to you guys to come up with some equally engaging questions on your favourite entertainment topics to fill the temporary gap!!

Inappropriate?Just to confirm, this ban covers shows where the outcome is known, but if there is a show where it is pre-recorded but the outcome isn't know (i.e. they've recorded 2 or more endings, eg The Apprentice) then they are permitted.
