Twitpic, Retweet, URL-shortening?
Am I just missing it, or is there no way to easily retweet in Twitterific? Also, any chance of Twitpic and/or a URL-shortening features? Thanks!

Inappropriate? This question is in regards to the desktop app, btw. Thanks!

Inappropriate? You aren't missing anything — Twitterrific doesn't yet include retweeting. For now, you'll have you select a tweet and copy+paste it, and add the "retweet" or "RT" text. I know, it can be a pain, sometimes.
Also, +1 for URL-shortening features — I'd love to see bit.ly integration, personally.

It already shortens automatically, to tinyurl.com, in my experience. -
Inappropriate? It would be nice if it could, on start, check the current character counts of created tinyurls, is.gds, etc, and let you pick which one when you post a url, and only count a url as that length. This way I could paste something, it'd go "is it a url?" (i'm pretty sure it can check), and if it is, allow it and count it as 25 characters if it's a tinyurl (that's the length of a tinyurl), 18 characters if it's a twurl.nl, some other number for is.gd, etc. Because after you tweet, that's how many characters it'd take up. This would be awesome.

Inappropriate?Fast retweet and URL shortening on-the-fly would be greate.

Inappropriate?+1 for retweeting on iPhone/iPod Twitterrific. Retweeting is increasingly the most important activity I'm doing on Twitter. Also consider using recycle icon instead of 'RT'.
-
As much as I'd like to see RTing in Twitterrific, using the recycle icon is a horrible idea for many, many reasons, like the fact it doesn't show up on the iPhone. -
Retweeting on iPhone is coming, watch the interview with Chock Lock on TUAW. -
Inappropriate?I'd love to see rt support. The recycle icon wont come trough on all twitter clients though, especially not all cell phones. I thought it had tinyurl support and I was a dumb. I'll second bit.ly
I’m happy I'm not alone

Inappropriate?+1 for retweeting on the desktop & iphone clients.
+1 for URL shortening.
Thanks! -
Inappropriate?+1 for retweeting - I'm thinking of switching to another client to satisfy my RT addiction, but I'd love to stay
-
Inappropriate?I've only just realised I can't retweet. Damn shame, time to go back to twitterfox I think...
I’m disappointed. But time and tide waits for no man (or app).
-
Inappropriate?Retweeting is possible in the iPhone app... You have to select the message then press the asterisk below and then select retweet! :)
I’m happy

Inappropriate?Thomas, I know, but if you actually read ALL the comments, you will notice that many are referring to the iPhone app as well.
I’m indifferent
-
Inappropriate? How can retweeting be impossible on this app? That's just crazy talk. Even crazier are the programmers who didn't include it. Hope they have it soon, or I'll be switching to another Twitter client.
I’m frustrated
-
Inappropriate? This far in to the development cycle of Twitterific desktop re-tweeting is not a defensible omission. Do yourself a favor and switch to Tweetie like myself and many others did.
I’m indifferent
-
Inappropriate?I can live without retweeting. I'd rather have a search feature and the option to see user profiles in-app. URL shortening and Image things would be very useful. As far as I can see Twitterific havent really added anything useful to it in a while. Just very minor things. I still love it more than Tweetie though :)
-
Inappropriate?I can't believe it doesn't allow retweeting after all this time, let alone link shortening and Twitpic integration.
I'd switch to Tweetie but I'm still on Tiger, and I paid for Twitterrific a few days ago.
Very disappointed.

Inappropriate?+1 on retweet on the desktop app. please implement it soon, because of this missing feature i just keep coming back to tweet deck
I’m frustrated
-
Inappropriate?Got this as part of the MacHeist bundle. Absolutely astonished there is no re-tweeting in there. Thought it was a mistake until finding this page... shocking... Might have to switch back to the old client...
I’m frustrated
-
Inappropriate? There has to be retweeting and url-shortening standard. Not having them is a deal breaker for me. DestroyTwitter does everything and it's free. There is a lot of competition in the Twitter client market.
Props for the beautiful interface, though.
I’m indifferent because there are plenty of alternatives.

Inappropriate? The lack of retweet support is a no-no for this app - two hands down, goin' back to tweetie
I’m frustrated

Inappropriate?Deleting twitterrific after obtaining it through macheist. If dev's could not be bother to add rt button for a year it is not worth using it.
-
Inappropriate?Agree with the posters above. Got Twitterific through MacHeist, but without URL shortening, Image integration and RT button, it's a joke of a Twitter app.

Inappropriate? The iPhone app is getting the most love these days, but seriously, it's a great lightweight twitter app for the desktop. Some of us don't need a full screen solution like tweetdeck. I still won't use Tweetie for Mac because even though I can tell it to not mark tweets as read until I click them, it will automatically mark whatever the 'top' tweet was every time it updates as read. That's a killer (alongside the incredible memory usage, gobble gobble! yes I have 4GB of ram, but don't be greedy, Tweetie!). Twitterrific lets me quickly scan tweets whenever I feel like it, and leave it for later when I don't. That's all I want.
Also, retweet support will probably come when official support for retweeting comes, which is soon. Is copy pasting and editing a little bit really that hard?
I’m thankful
-
Inappropriate?I emailed twitterrific with this question, and they said they're rebuilding the app from scratch for 4.0 which will come out soon, and has all the features.
Just hope the MacHeist license is valid for 4.0...
I’m hopeful
-
Inappropriate?I gave Twitterific a try for the very reasons you mentioned, but sorry: The inconvenience of having to manually shorten urls, copy&paste messages for retweeting and not being able to just drag&drop images is just too much to justify sticking with Twitterific, at least for me.
I’m sad

Inappropriate? There is currently no way to easily RT in the 3.x version of Twitterrific for the Mac. This feature and a whole host of others are coming in Twitterrific 4 which is currently in development. This will be a complete re-write of the application from the ground up and will include many of the most popular feature requests for the application.
There is currently no ETA on Twitterrific 4's arrival, but rest assured we are working hard on it as we speak.
