Badges (AKA That star thingy)
I see in the IDC blog that employees of ID have a special star on their name tab that displays "Intense Debate Official". I think it would be a good idea to expand on that.
My initial simple idea would be to have a star next to the names of the current blog admins. For collaborative blogs this would be neat.
However, I think there are other ways to add more of these somehow. For example they could act as badges where you gain one depending on how you are rated (A Smiley for funny, an exclamation mark for Insightful etc.)

Inappropriate?interesting idea. With blog admins having stars as their badge we'd have to figure out a new one for ID employees (not that that's a big deal). We have put this off because we're concerned with cluttering the appearance of the user profile bar (I think we also had bigger fish to fry at the time...this was a couple of months ago). Perhaps it's time to revisit this idea. Any preference to the symbol you would want blog admins to have?
We've toyed with this idea - more with an eye for giving bloggers credit for bringing in new users (I'm for having some sort of family tree of who you recruited into ID and who they recruited). The tough thing is that we'd need to send out some sort of formal invite to track this, or some sort of user verification that they could do. Eh, I'll reintroduce these ideas to the fellas and we'll hash them out a bit whenever we get an opportunity.
Thanks for the feature request - this probably wouldn't have come up for a couple of months if you hadn't said something.

Perhaps a different colour star? Maybe even have the colour selectable by each admin.

One more thing
We have put this off because we're concerned with cluttering the appearance of the user profile bar
I think that as long that what you clutter the bar is useful and descriptive, then no-one will mind. If in doubt, just provide it along with some kind of option for the users to hide them for themselves.
