Cannot stayed logged in with Safari
I cannot loggin with Safari (3.2.1) or Webkit (nightly build) on OS X (10.5.5) while on my blog (http://dancameron.org). Firefox works fine.
Also, logging into intensedebate.com takes 2-5 attempts before I can actually manage my account, then I'm logged out after a while.
This is pretty frustrating as you can tell. Especially since I cannot comment on my own site without manually entering my info and I can't use the tools that you provide when logged in on my site.

@stewtopia, in Safari, you will usually have to allow cookies from third party sites for the login to "stick". You can do that by going to Preferences > Security > Accept Cookies and setting it to "Always".
I've just done a test on my own blog and it seems to work fine. This is because of the way that cookies work unfortunately, and we don't have a way around it at this time, other than changing that setting in Safari.

Inappropriate?Dan, when are you logged out of IntenseDebate on your site (after you post a comment, reload the page, etc.)? I have been unable to create this issue. Could you please provide me with a specific link?
Are you able to stay logged in at http://blog.intensedebate.com?
Are you having issues logging into IntenseDebate.com using Safari or Firefox? How long does it take for you to be logged out?
Thanks,
Michael -
Inappropriate? Here is a link to one of my posts.

It looks like I can stay logged in at blog.intensedebate.com
Yes, I cannot stay logged in at it.com, as I previously mentioned: "Also, logging into intensedebate.com takes 2-5 attempts before I can actually manage my account, then I'm logged out after a while"
yes, firefox works fine.
I’m concerned
-
Inappropriate?Scratch that, going to a single post page on blog.intensedebate.com logs me out.
I recommend you download webkit and Safari and check it out. -
Inappropriate?So what's the deal?
I know it's the holiday but I haven't heard anything. Not even, "we don't support webkit or safari".
I’m confused
-
Inappropriate?I have the same problem with my own WordPress blog that I have upgraded to use the beta plugin, but it doesn't seem to appear with other WordPress or Blogger blogs.
It seems to be a problem with third-party cookies, since turning on Always Accept Cookies in the Safari preferences fixed the problem, but it comes back as soon as I revert to Accept Cookies Only from sites you navigate to. The odd thing is that this problem didn't exist until a week or two ago ...
I’m undecided

Inappropriate?Dan,
We've identified the issue. The login issue has to do with the latest version of Safari not liking 3rd party cookies setting cookies by JavaScript Scripts.
We're working on a fix for this. No ETA yet (sorry).
Thanks for your patience.
Michael
I’m confident

Inappropriate? No ETA? This is not a serious company.
Another report, more than two months old.
This sucks, I'll probably just give up on ID whatsoever. Inicially I thought you just had one or two pending problems, but I now lost my count on how many bug reports and imporant feature request I've sent you over these last two weeks. -
Inappropriate?I'm still having this issue! Any clue on when this will be resolved?
If not, I'm switching to Disqus.
I’m very unhappy
-
Inappropriate?I have the same problem now with Safari 4 on my Mac. But to add a little flavor, I can't even stay logged in while I'm on the Intense Debate site.
Given the length of time that has gone since this question was asked, I'll assume that it hasn't been fixed. -
