IntenseDebate plugin for WP installation problem
When I try to set up my account name and password after activating the plugin, I get this error:
Warning: fsockopen() [function.fsockopen]: unable to connect to intensedebate.com:80 (Connection timed out) in /home/gargron/public_html/wp-includes/class-snoopy.php on line 1142
Warning: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at /home/gargron/public_html/wp-includes/class-snoopy.php:1142) in /home/gargron/public_html/wp-includes/pluggable.php on line 770
And nothing sets up.

Inappropriate?Eugene, thanks for reporting this. What web browser are you using? Also, what is the URL of your blog. We'll get this taken care of.
Thanks,
Michael
I’m confident

Inappropriate? What hosting service do you use to host your blog? Is it your own server or do you rent space on another service like godaddy or hostgator?
-
Inappropriate?I'm using Mozilla Firefox and WordPress 2.6.3. The url is http://www.animesquare.exofire.net and I'm using free hosting service x10hosting.com with PHP 5.2.5 with all features (mod_rewrite and fsockopen and curl work)

Inappropriate?Hmm...well my suspicion was that fsock was blocked, but if you're sure that's not the case then is it at all possible you happened to get this error during our brief outage the other day? http://blog.intensedebate.com/2008/11...
If so I assure you the server issues have been resolved and I'd encourage you to try the plugin again and see if it is working now. -
Inappropriate?Today i've received my invite code - but i don't find a WP Plugin nor the chance to import my comments from my own hosted WP-blog...
I’m frustrated

To download the IntenseDebate WP plugin please enter your invite code at http://intensedebate.com/install. Please let me know how it goes. -
Inappropriate?getting the same error

wordpress 2.7.1
trying to install on ixwebhosting server, not sure if fsock is enabled -- is there an apache module i can manually declare? i have access to the virtual host server settings...
I’m frustrated

Inappropriate?THis issue has to do with WP 2.7.1, ever since the update this plugin and others have been broken with the same issue. 2.7 they work fine as soon as the upgrade is done they are broke.
-
Inappropriate?Delete the plugin from your server, then upload a fresh copy, fixed my issues, and it might be more then one plugin, I had to do this for a bunch of mine.
-
Inappropriate? The plugin will not deactivate, so I deleted it by FTP and uploaded version 2.0.17...same result, still not working.
The plugin looks great, but is not working in my installation.
-
Inappropriate?i gave up on it on the installation that i was working on.because it wasn't limited to intensedebate -- i was getting fsock errors for other things as well. i'm convinced there was some server/webhost setting that was disallowing data to be pulled from external sources. i was getting the same fsock errors on rss feeds as well.
