Login button does not work on Firefox (2 or 3)
The Intense Debate login button that's attached to my wordpress blog posts does not work with Firefox. I tried with Internet Explorer and it works fine. Problem is the same for Firefox 2 and 3 on both Linux and Windows. The login form appears like it should and you can type in a username and password, but clicking the actual Login button itself does nothing.
Problem can be seen here for example: http://timburrell.net/blog/2008-06-22...
Everything else works great, except for the Login button! Using the latest wordpress intense debate plugin.

Inappropriate?I also have a Tumblr based tumblog (http://tumblog.timburrell.net/) that exhibits the same problem, so it's not a wordpress issue.

Thanks for reported this. We're looking into it now. -
Tim, I was able to login using Firefox 2. Could you please retry logging in to see if this problem persists? Thanks -
Still doesn't work for me, only tried with firefox 3 this time, but it definitely works in IE.
When I click the login button absolutely nothing happens, but if I hit enter while in the password field the firefox status bar (at the bottom of the window) briefly shows "contacting intensedebate..." and then maybe a few tenths of a second later it says "Done". Did you actually try on my site with the link I gave? If not, I'm wondering if it's an issue with my site -- maybe I've got some other runaway javascript? If you did, then I'm stumped!
Any ideas for me? -
Yeah I tried it on the link you provided. What other plugins are you running? There may be a conflict. I'll be honest with you, we're a bit stumped as well, but we will get to the bottom of this. I still can't recreate this issue, logging in works fine for me. -
Truly bizarre! I've tried on 4 different computers running a mix of Windows and Linux, 1 a work computer with a totally different setup -- in all cases firefox doesn't work, but (in cases where Windows can be run) IE does work. browesers I tried had no addons loaded, so it's not adblock or anything like that. I also tried looking at Firefox's error console and nothing goes in there when I click the login button. OOOH WAIT. Here's something interesing. If I try a different password it works (I get invalid password box). Yep I think I know what it is -- my password has an octothorpe (#) in it. As soon as I insert that character into the password field the login button no longer functions! -
Interesting! Ok, first, please change your password!!! Second, I'll pass this onto our lead developer to take a look at. Thanks -
Haha... password changed, and yes it works fine now! Web development must be so annoying some times. Really odd that it works in IE and not Firefox. Thanks for going through this with me, appreciate it. The support from you guys has been top notch thus far, which goes a long way in my books! -
Inappropriate?Alright! I love happy customers! Thanks for your identifying the problem. I've got the development crew working on it.
