Save Comments Before Posting
Can Intense Debate save comments without posting them? Like, I'd like to work on a comment or response, save it, and then come back to it before posting it. It'd work something like a blog post....

Inappropriate? That's a cool idea. What would you think of having a comment draft section on the dashboard? Is that what you have in mind?
I'm not sure if we can implement this, but I'm always happy to bring it up with the team to get their thoughts.
Cheers,
Michael

Inappropriate?Actually, heh, I'm a Disqus user, but considering the switch. I could see a "Save For Posting Later" button near the comment field. I'm not familiar with the ID dashboard, but yeah, that sounds like something that could work.
I’m thankful that Michael is responsive.

Actually Chris, I just realized that we kind of already do this. If you start writing a comment and then reload the page before submitting the comment, your comment should still be there. Give it a try and let me know. Cheers -
Hey Chris, you mentioned that you're interested in switching over from Disqus to IntenseDebate. Do you currently have Disqus installed on your blog? -
Inappropriate?I do have disqus running right now. chrispalle.com
The thing that would be cool is if say, my browser crashed or I needed to shut down my computer in the middle of writing it and it was saved for when I got back. See, what I'd normally do is copy to a text program, then save the file, then come back, edit, then post it... seems kind of like a waste if I could be saving it in real-time as it's typed. Think Google Docs. -
As long as your cookies aren't cleared your comment will still be there. On a different note, we’re trying to see if there’s a nice way to import your comments from Disqus into our system. Would you mind sending us a copy of the XML export that we could look into? -
hrm. not sure if that's a violation of the ToS, but will look into it. -
Inappropriate?oh, and it would be cool if I were pinged to come back to finish it after some specified time.

That's a cool idea. I'll pass it along to the fellas. Thanks Chris!
