WP 2.5.1 installation "you accountid is invalid"
I'm getting an error when trying to install Intense Debate on my wordpress blog (v. 2.5.1). Here are the details:
1. blog is at http://www.janignatius.fi/blog
2. I'm able to follow the installation procedure until the point after I've activated the plug-in and click "finish" on the Intense Debate install-page.
3. The error is "Your accountid is invalid"
I wonder if the problem is with the tool that creates the custom plugin? Here are the parameters from the beginning of the php-file:
define('IDC_URL', 'http://www.intensedebate.com/');
define('IDC_ACCT', 'aa6305892878bf714eb26dbf50d2a43c');
define('IDC_BLOGID', '0');
I'd love to get the comments working asap.. any ideas on how to fix this?

Inappropriate?This is something I've seen other struggle the last few days. I recommend you try and use the "Reinstall" procedure.
Come on Devs, I can't really help people with stuff like these...
I’m concerned
-
Can you be a bit more specific what this reinstall procedure means as I cannot seem to find any reference to it? Since the installation fails every time, the Intense Debate dashboard does not show that I would have any blogs installed so perhaps this "reinstall" option is not available for me..? -
Inappropriate?I am having the same issue for WP install right now as well.
Invalid account
Your accountid is invalid.
I’m frustrated
-
Inappropriate?@igufi: When you add a new blog, it should be added to your dashboard even if you have not put any script on your site. I guess you used the "Claim you blog" link on the main page?
I’m concerned
-
Well, I used the "install intense debate now"-link from the dashboard. Are there other tools besides that for defining the blogs you want to use ID with? -
Inappropriate?This is weird, I tried to setup IDC on a test blog and it failed for me as well. I don't even see IDC tracking the new blog in the dashboard.
This leads me to believe that there is somethnig generic going on. In the last few days many people have (too many) have complained that the installation fails. Blogspot users get the Oops(2) error and WP users get this.
I think something is wrong on the backend and it is not allowing new blogs to be created
Unfortunately the devs seem to have taken the last few days off (4th of July? Dunno) and may not have even realized this.
I suggest everyone to be a little patient until the Devs come and give us an update.
One more thing. If you see your blog in the dashboard, you should be able to grab the blogID from there and put it in the plugin.
I’m worried
-
You're probably right - we just have to wait for the devs to return from holidays. Btw, the oops(2) -error does crop up even on the WP install, but only when you view a individual post (mine appears on the sidebar). -
Inappropriate?I sincerely apologize for the frustration. There has to be something wonky going on our end as dbo mentioned. I've got our dev team on it now and we should get this fixed as soon as we diagnose the issue.
Thanks for your patience as we sort this out.
Kind regards,
Michael

Inappropriate?Thank you for the update. Please let me know when you've found the bug so I can try to install the tool again.
I’m Hopeful

Inappropriate?I just found another thread which mentioned that the WP bug had been fixed. I managed to download and finish the whole installation procedure but nothing is shown on the blog (I can see the Intense Debate <div> being added to the end of the post in the source code but it is not visible to the end user). Any ideas?
I realize that this is now a different problem than the topic states and if the ID-devs prefer, I can move this to another thread?

Inappropriate?Have you perhaps closed the comments to that post? Try making a new one.

Inappropriate?Good news! I decided to re-install all the plugins etc. to make sure there were no errors during the transfers of all the scripts. After re-installation and clearing the browser cache Intense Debate started working without any issues! No idea what caused the previous problems but I'm just happy that it finally works.
Special thanks to db0 and Michael for helping me out.

Glad to hear it igufi! Enjoy ;) -
Inappropriate?igufi, great to hear! I'm curious what the problem was before, but I suppose we can chalk it up to one of those great mysteries of life.
Please give me a shout if you run into any other issues.
Many thanks again to db0!
Cheers,
Michael
