iPhone-ing Sandy
I have developed a (basic) working, iPhone-optimized web form that allows me to quickly get tasks to Sandy. (It's basically a web form with a PHP backend that does the mailing to Sandy.)
I'd love to bring this to others, but doing so would require that I create a membership framework that stores users' information -- otherwise the form wouldn't know your unique e-mail address for Sandy. As it is now, I just have my Sandy e-mail hardcoded into the scripts since I'm the only one using it.
So...I thought I'd look for some feedback here. Are folks willing to sign up for such a site and enter their personal info?

Inappropriate?I think the easiest thing is to just give the form to iwantsandy.com
Then they can add it to their website. it's be easier than asking everybody to trust you with their Sandy login and password.
I'm not sure if they're using PHP or not. Maybe you could attend the next Sandy townhall meeting and ask Rael about it.
Great idea. I'd love to see it in action. Is there s website where I can see it?

this is one of the best points

Inappropriate?I created a Sandy iPhone App and concur. I created a log in form with an iPhone interface that sends info directly to the official site but now I just link to the log in page at I Want Sandy. If that is needed bad enough then it can always be recreated on their servers.
iPhoneSandy
I’m happy

Inappropriate?iPhone Sandy is great! You did a really good job
As far as my Sandy info. I think I would be more comfortable if it were a native app where the info is stored on my phone & only sent to the server for authentication. -
Inappropriate?Funny, funny Aliysson. First of all thank you for your comment.
I must point this out to you and everyone. NO INFORMATION is transferred to any server other than I Want Sandy. This program basically fires up your email just like you would do anyway to send a message to Sandy. Sandy as an email assistant needs to interact with email. You may have already known this but just wanted to mention that.
Now if that internal logic can fit on the iPhone I think it would stop being an email assistant. It would probably become more like an intelligent to do / calendar program It would be interesting to see how that could work but I imagine something like that would require some voice recognition or else lose all uniqueness. Hmmm interesting. -
Fox, I know nothing is stored now. My comment was towards your idea of a "membership framework that stores information.".
Please know it was not to try to convince you to do more. You have already gone above & beyond my idea of user responsibility! -
Yeah I know exactly what you mean although I initially misunderstood it. I just wanted to underline for anyone else who might misunderstand it. The trick about what you want is that your/our iphones would need that AI special sauce that would allow it to understand English the way Sandy seemingly does.I wonder if that is server specific. Even the Jott app requires outsourcing translation. Yeah privacy of info is a comfortability issue. Maybe the compromise is getting that special sauce on our own servers. Hmmm.
