Only send SMS messages in certain cases
There are certain occasions where I'd prefer NOT to get SMS reminders. When I'm actually sitting at my computer in the middle of the day, or when I'm home at night. If I know I'll be out on the go, then I'd like the SMS reminder. Also, I don't get an incredible amount of available out of network SMS messages, and I'm sure others have the same problem. If I could tag reminders with @sms or something, and only send an SMS reminder in that case, it would solve both issues

Inappropriate?Agreed. There are certain reminders that I have that are work-related so an email notification is fine because I'm in front of my desk already. However, if I need to pick up dinner on the way home, a text would be nice. I like your idea of adding @sms. -
Inappropriate?I'll add another vote for this. I definitely don't want to receive SMS messages for everything, but every once in a while a @sms would help out immensely.

Inappropriate?well, if you can send email to your cellphone and have a primary gmail account, you can add a filter that says "if subject contains @sms", send it to the cellphone's email. I live abroad so I guess it will take a while until you can send me actual sms's, and by that time, I guess you will have solved the @sms for certain cases issue.

Inappropriate?Sandy already recognizes "@sms". If you have SMS reminders configured but disabled, then you can force her to send you an SMS reminder by tagging the event with @sms .
