I purchase a wreath on Saturday Sept. 13, 2008 at the Jo Ann Fabric in Winchester, Va. 22601. After I took the wreath home and place in my home, it look way to large. So I decide to take it back and get another in place of it. My son had taken the trash to the dump and my receipt was in a small bag that I had purchase a small item also. So I had no receipt. On Sunday I went back and said I had no receipt, but they should still have my check as banks are closed on Sat. afternoons and I had my license to show. I wanted no money, just to exchange for a smaller wreath. They new it was a wreath from there store, more just like it on wall. They would not let me exchange it, it would mess up their inventory. They made me feel like they did not believe me. They had my check from day before. I have been other stores and not had a receipt to return something and they will let you exchange the item. I thought it was wrong. I shop a lot at this store.

My ll yr.old granddaughter threw away her $25 gift card by accident. She was cleaning out her purse and threw it out with some kleexes. When she realized what she had done she went back but the garbage had already gone out. PLEASE HELP!!!! Thank you very much for your time and help. Grandma Ade

I called on 12/13 to confirm that a Singer Dress Form for my daughter would be delivered by Christmas since their web site had 2 contradictory statements one right after the other on their web site. One said allow 2-3 weeks for shipping. The other said that orders placed by the 14th would be delivered by Christmas. I called to confirm with customer service which statement I should believe. They said it would be delivered by Christmas.... so I ordered it online.

Today, the 20th, I checked my account online and it reads "order processing". So I called customer service who informed me that since the item is being shipped directly from Singer, they had no information. Their database is updated occasionally by Singer, not regularly, so they have no data. They said that when the database is updated and they have shipped the item, I would get a tracking number in my email. I asked when that would happen and they said "maybe today". I understood "maybe today" to mean maybe today... maybe tomorrow... maybe the next day... maybe after Christmas. I tried to nail down some type of time frame, but she just kept saying "maybe today". I asked her why the person said that I would get it by Christmas and she said I am supposed to get it by the 24th.... yes, I know that. She also told me that the web site says it may take 2-3 weeks.... and I explained that I called exactly for that reason a week ago and was told I would have it by the 24th.

Now if I wanted to cancel the order, that is not an option with Joann, even though they haven't taken the money out of my account yet. This is their policy. They said I can send the item back after I get it and will get a refund in 2-3 weeks. I also asked what their policy is if I don't get my item by the 24th as promised. They said there is none and I can return the item for a refund if I'm not happy, but canceling the order is not an option.

It's 2007... internet ordering and fulfillment are in a growth phase, but nowhere near their infancy. One would think that there might just be someone at Joann who understands that the internet could help their business instead of hurt it, especially at Christmas. I guess one way to guarantee you don't lose any money is their "no cancel" policy. Shortsighted, but from other things I've read about them, customer satisfaction is not a strong suit or priority on any level.

This was my first online purchase with them and clearly my last... even if it does show up by the 24th. I've purchased in their stores before, but this is the last time they get a penny from me. There are too many other options.

Even if this item does show up by the 24th... I'm done with these fools.

This just in: About 60 Children’s Robbie Ducky Holiday Water Globes have been recalled. The painted base of the water globes imported by Jo-Ann Stores Inc., of Hudson, Ohio, and is manufactured in China.

So far, no incidents or injuries have been reported.

The recalled Robbie Ducky water globe is about 1-1/2 inches in diameter and sits on a 1-1/2 by 1-1/2 inch square base. There are four different globe designs including: Robbie Ducky on a red base, a reindeer on a green base, a penguin on a green base and a polar bear on a red base. “Holiday Inspirations Water Globe” is printed on the bottom of the globes.

The Robbie Ducky globes were sold in Jo-Ann Fabric and Craft stores in Florida, Texas, Missouri and Georgia in November 2007 for about $5.

Consumers should immediately take the recalled globes away from children and return them to any Jo-Ann Fabric and Craft store for a full refund.
