Inappropriate?George, I'm having a bit of trouble understanding you, but one photo is not a synth.
You need to put an absolute minimum of three photos of the same thing which were taken from different angles into the synther for Photosynth to begin discovering how they fit together (but the angles can't be so different that the computer can't recognise the subject of the photos as the same scene).
After you put them in the synther, give your album a title in the upper left hand corner and press the 'Synth' button.
The synther will then:
1) convert your photos to Seadragon's 'Deep Zoom' format and begin uploading them to photosynth.net,
2) look for parts of the photos that a computer can memorise,
3) try to find matching pairs of those memorised pieces of the photos,
4) try to line up all the matching pieces with each other, thus discovering where those pieces of the pictures must have been in 3D to appear in the photos at the places which they do, and
5) upload the photos' and image features' (point cloud) position information to photosynth.net for you to view, pin on the map, embed in other sites (like you would embed a YouTube video on a site besides youtube.com), and share with friends or the entire world.
In solving the math problem in the fourth step, Photosynth also discovers where the camera must have been in relation to the scene or object, so it knows where to display the photos when you view the synth after it's finished calculating.
I've said that you need at least three photos for a synth, but a three image synth won't be all that exciting. Try to take a few circles of photos around an object: close and far, high and low. This will give you a better idea of what to expect from Photosynth.
Other than that, you can read the Photosynth Photography Guide, watch the introduction video, and take a look at some of the most popular synths to see how other people have figured out how to get Photosynth to build cool things for them.
