Photosynth ran out of disk space?
I got an error message that Photosynth ran out of disk space. I was trying to synth 700+ images, but I have 713GB free... and I'm pretty sure Photosynth isn't using it all.
So what is photosynth's disk usage and is there a way to increase it?

Inappropriate?Photosynth requires a disk cache of about 2x the size of the original images. Sometimes the space reserved for Volume Shadow Copy interferes with this estimate, but if you have 713GB free, sounds like we're just not calculating your free disk correctly. We use your system disk - is that the volume with 713GB free?

Inappropriate?Yes, I have a hardware RAID 1 of 2 1TB disks (well what the drive manufactures say is a TB)
c:\>dir %SYSTEMDRIVE%
Volume in drive C has no label.

Oh, and interesting side note: DSC_2622.JPG is the last file. It converted them all then died...
Please let me know if I can add any more information to help debug this. -
Inappropriate? It would really be nice if there was an option in Photosynth to set a directory that the Photosynthing is done in - that way one is not restricted to putting all the activitiy and space on one's system disk!
I’m annoyed that this basic feature isn't available.

I've wished the same thing. Any chance of this, guys? -
Inappropriate?Photosynth uses the standard temp directory. You can configure this yourself.
Go to My Computer -> Right Click -> Properties -> Advanced -> Environment Variables
You should see "TEMP" and "TMP" listed in the upper box.
Change both of these to be a directory on the drive of your choice.
I tried this out and it seems that it's the TMP variable that is used.
I’m pretty sure this will work
