Cue deck cannot remember 'last opened script' as Boxer did.
Cue deck cannot remember the last opened script as Boxer did. In fact there's no way to enter anything in the settings to say... use last opened, or use this particular script.
I have to manually open a particular script in cue deck everytime I use v4.
I noted this when beta testing but get a reply to say if it was to be re-implemented, or when. It's just an annoyance to loose a feature we had in v3.
Regards Ken

Kenno - I wanted to check in and confirm that this problem was solved for you in Version 4.4, build 137.
I’m confident

Inappropriate?I'm flagging this one for the developers in my email today. Thanks for the find.
-
Inappropriate? Thanks Chris. Just check, they should have it already as I picked it up in the beta testing several weeks ago.
-
Inappropriate?I probably read it, but depending on what else I was doing the day I read it, I may have missed it in my report for the day. It's going out this afternoon to them.

Inappropriate?Worse than that, neither the Cues tab nor the Open File command keeps track of recently opened files in their dropdowns.
I’m disappointed
-
Inappropriate?Any progress on this? I have the latest build and the Cue deck still defaults to 'NewScript1' every time.
I’m wondering what's happened in the last month since this thread started
-
Inappropriate? As as addendum, if after opening a script and saving it as a new name, MediaShout v4 opens the previous vice newest script.
-
Inappropriate? This problem is now resolved for me. Cue deck automatically opens in the last current script.
-
Inappropriate?Hmmm... I've just installed build 118 and it's still not working for me. Same problem as before: always opens a blank 'New Script 1' in thumbnail view - neither of which I want.
I’m disheartened
-
Maybe Kenno is using the beta version that was released this week... -
No not a Beta. Just all the latest updates. I'm currently on b118.2. I've been on holiday for two weeks now. Not sure it there's an updated version since b118.2. -
Inappropriate?I'm glad this is working for Kenno, but like Nic, it is not working for me in 118.2. Maybe 4.3?
I’m Hopeful
-
Inappropriate?I haven't noticed it as being fixed in any of the bug fix lists, but it is definately going for me everytime now I start MS for about a month now.
-
Inappropriate?I just upgraded to version 4.3.126 and this still opens a blank 'New Script 1' in the cue deck
I’m frustrated
-
Inappropriate?I agree with KGMan. It is not working properly yet. Running 4.3.125.3 here.
FH3 -
Inappropriate?Cue deck can't remember the last script if the program closed improperly. It will go to the most recently properly closed script. It would be nice if it would remember the last script regardless of how it closed.
I’m undecided
-
Inappropriate?Have you checked under "Tools," "Settings," and then "Files" to see if the "Default Presentation" is set to "Most Recent"? It also gives you the choice of "None" or "Browse for file..."
-
Inappropriate?MediaShout 4 opens the last script I used but the cues deck and the audio deck always pull up a blank script named "New Script 1". I tried creating a script with this name but still got a new blank script.
Currently running 4.3.128.3
I’m confused
-
Inappropriate?Although this is marked as complete for me, (I started the thread) we are just cutting over to v4 on another of our PC's, and this experiences the same issue with the cues deck. But the audio decks pick up the last opened script.
So this is now back on the bug list for me. And yes, I have it set to open the "Most Recent" script in setting menu. I had thought that that setting was only meant for the main script pane, but have set it to Most Recent to be sure. -
Inappropriate?I raised this in another thread which is now marked as fixed, so doesn't have much visibility for MediaShout anymore.
So I'm putting in a new bug report for the same thing.
Please see my other thread, where people are still saying they have a problem. I too am seeing this same issue now, on another PC that we are trying to cutover the v4 just now.

I'm not sure how this bug was marked as solved, as I agree that it certainly is not. I will check first thing tomorrow morning as to whether this is being addressed in the next update and will try to get it added, since it "shouldn't" be that difficult of an issue to fix.
I also want to assure you that we are most definitely keeping track of bugs that are posted here as well as directly to our customer support team. Here on GS, we have a management view where we're able to view problems in various states of being solved, whether or not employees are responding to the topic, and how many people have "me too'd" the post signifying that they're having the same problem.
In addition, we're working this week to finalize integration of a new online ticketing tool that integrates directly with GetSatisfaction, allowing us to escalate user-specific problems into our one-on-one customer support system for direct response, and allow solutions to them be posted publicly back to GS and added to our upcoming new knowledge base.
Finally, I wanted to let everyone know about the bug rating system we have in place. We rank every bug on a 25-point scale based on 2 factors:
- severity/visibility of the bug (ranked 1 to 5)
- number of users affected by the bug (ranked 1 to 5)
We believe this method to be the most effective method to weed out the major bugs that are system-wide first, and move down the list to bugs that either don't affect application performance, or are unique to a small number of hardware/software combinations.
That being said, as I stated at the beginning of this reply, I am determined to get this bug fix added to our upcoming release if at all possible. I hope to report back on this in the next few days.
Thank you for your continued support and beneficial voice in our customer support community.
Nate

Inappropriate?Nato, this is fine under b137. MS starts up with the same cue deck open as when MS last closed.
I’m thankful
-
Inappropriate?Hi Nato, I won't be back to that PC until the weekend, but will check to see and let you know.
It's actually been fine on my laptop for four months. It's just not been working on our main media PC. -
Inappropriate?Hi Nato,
I've upgraded that PC to b137, but sorry, no scripts are remembered at all in the cue deck. Also, no scripts are ever seen in the quick pick drop down list in the cue deck either. It's always empty.
All scripts in the audio decks are remembered on that PC though. Just not the cue deck.
I reported this for the first time 9 months ago.

If its working fine on the laptop but not on the media PC, there's definitely something funky going on there. I'd recommend getting you on the phone or skype with Dave in support to try and figure out what's causing the problem on that particular machine. Let me know if you'd like to setup a specific call time for that.
