DVD cues going back to DVD menu when finished playing?
I've been having a problem with DVD cues where after it finishes playing something it goes back to the DVD menu while running the script. Is there a way to get it to not show the DVD menu after playing a DVD clip so the congregation won't see it? I tried adjusting the start and stop times, but I wanted it to play the whole title/chapter without cutting off the last second before the end of the clip. Also, it won't automatically advance to the next cue at the end of the DVD foreground as I have it set up because of the DVD menu that shows at the end of the clip.

Inappropriate? That is a big problem for everyone I think. the only way I have overcome it was to advance the cue at the very last possible second manually. It is either that or copy it to your hardrive and play it from there or as you said cut it back 1 second.

Inappropriate?I just experienced this when setting up a video promo for service today. I could not get the DVD to not show the menu. My temporary solution [similar to Ken's]: put a blank [black] text cue right after the DVD and manually advance it at the end of the clip.
This needs to be fixed by MediaComplete.
I’m tired and frustrated.

Inappropriate? What I do is just watch the countdown at the bottom of the control screen, and fire the logo at the end of the DVD. This works well for us as we already use the logo (a photo of a cross) in between many of the songs we do. (It also looks much better than leaving the last stanza of the last song up while the next one starts)
Get a cool logo, if you don't have one already, and just fire that after the DVD. Even though you won't have this with video files, we use the logo on Video files too because some of the videos we use don't automatically fade to black at the end.
I’m happy.

Inappropriate?I mostly have had this issue when I want to show an entire DVD and the OUT time is the last second of the video (for example, a Rob Bell video). If the video hits that final second, the program only knows to go back to the menu. Even though I have the OUT time set for the last second of the segment it will still flash the DVD menu.
I've also noticed that it can depend on if the cue is set to cut or dissolve. I have had some success using a 'cut' transition and ending the cue 1 or 2 seconds from the very end. I think with a dissolve transition, MediaShout still reads the cue beyond the OUT point to get that fade effect.
Note: This is my experience with v3.5. I have not taken taken the plunge into v4.
