Sidebar question (another)
Andrea, beautiful theme. Thanks for making it available.
I'm running WP 2.7.1 with Oulipo 1.05. I've read the "readme" file.
I posted this as a followup to "Sidebar question" but as that was many days ago without a response I thought I'd try again here :)
I'm not understanding how to get the custom sidebar codes from sidebar.php to appear as I would like them to appear (i.e. to have the About page show only bookmarks and Archives; to have the home page show a short custom note and image for instance.)
When I activate widgets they do appear but on every page/section while none of the page specific code appears.
When I deactivate widgets nothing appears in the sidebars on home, index and single pages such as About or Contact however sidebar copy does appear on single post pages and on category pages.
Right now I have widgets activated http://onionboy.ca/blogofo
Thanks
Owen

Inappropriate?Hey Owen,
Sorry for the delay, my support time comes in small bursts every couple of weeks when I get a free moment.
Oulipo is not currently configured to display different sets of widgets on different page types. The conditional sidebar content only works if you are using the theme without widgets. You can customize the sidebar to display what you'd like, but you have to edit sidebar.php directly.
The sidebar relies on a number of conditional if statements that will display various content depending on what kind of page or post it is. To learn more about WordPress specific conditional tags, check out the codex.
I'm not sure why sidebar.php displays nothing when widgets are deactivated... can you give me any additional information about your set-up, plug-ins you are using that might alter the sidebar content, or if you've edited it manually before?
Does that help at all?
Cheers,
Andrea :)
