Inappropriate?it's an awful concept, and you're impressed? in our language, awful means bad. I think you may have meant 'awesome', which means good.
-
I think he meant 'awefull' as in full of awe.
Wie 'geil' oder 'toll', mamamia? Dann soll man 'awesome' oder 'great', usw. sagn. 'Awful' ist ähnlich wie 'furchtbar'. -
It's not a problem, I just wanted to clear things up. -
Inappropriate?Internationalization is my highest priority for future versions of Ubiquity. I've been experimenting with a Japanese version already (since that's my second language), working towards a specification for pluggable parsing algorithms (to fit the grammars of different languages) as well as easy localization of command names. I'll be putting up a blog post about my plans sometime soon.
I’m excited

Inappropriate? Here's the way i did it:
You can get your built in commands from here: chrome://ubiquity/content/builtincmds.js
Then copy the commands you want to edit into the command editor (accessible with ubiquity through typing "command-editor")
After that you have to change the english urls into german ones and do some other stuff i haven't figured out yet...
If you change the wikipedia-command don't forget to change the function "fetchWikipediaArticle(previewBlock, articleTitle)" as well or the preview won't work right.

Inappropriate?Thanx for the hint, chris
I've found out yesterday it is for Vista:
C:\Users\name\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\key.default\extensions\ubiquity@labs.mozilla.com\chrome\content -
Inappropriate? You can change commands simply by overriding them. Just make a new command with the same name, and change the code.
-
Inappropriate? It's true that you can override commands by creating new commands with the same name. For now, anyway. This is really technically a bug, even though it has unexpectedly useful uses, but beware that future changes to the Ubiquity core might fix the bug.
If you create German versions of commands, it would be great if you could put them up on a feed to share with others! Then simply subscribe to your own feed to get the commands yourself. I think this will be a lot better than doing it in the command editor or (yikes!) directly editing the javascript files in the extension inside your profile.
By the way, tutorial for command authors is here.
I’m undecided
-
Inappropriate?I was planning on editing the built-in commands javascript file, but then figured that it might get overwritten in future patches.
So yeah, I agree, we need some method to edit built-in commands.
I’m hopeful

Inappropriate?Aza Raskin (a Ubiquity developer at Mozilla) touched on localization issues like these in a recent blog post.
