Worried about what sites my nephew is on and can't find history for a "private browsing" session!?!
How do I recover history from a "private browsing" session?? I think my underage nephew found the "private browsing" option on the computer. I never knew it was there. I was confused because when I would check in the history to see what he was up to.... there would be no record of him searching any sites. Please help me see what he is into! Thank you!

Inappropriate? You might try Win+R and then paste in "%appdata%\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\" . From ther click on the folder that is there. Then open sessionstore.js with Notepad.

Thank you! I will give this a try when I get home. -
Inappropriate? What if he is into finding ways to circumvent you seeing what he is into?
He could even set up an automated decoy browsing history/log of whatever keeps you from delving deeper.
All of the following suggestions can be circumvented, but may help you learn better ways to spy on him faster than he can learn how to get around them:
http://www.glubble.com/download is specifically designed for ease of such control.
http://www.wireshark.org/download.html is not easy but has a user guide (also in help file format)
http://www.snort.org/downloads/ is also hard and also has some setup guides
Best advice: move his computer into the living room with a 50 inch screen facing you all :) -
I am really not good with computers besides searching websites and history.. I will try the glubble suggestion because it sounds the easiest :)....and if I can not figure it out.... I think that moving the computer to the living room is an excellent idea! haha :) Thank you! -
Inappropriate? Also at this url http://www.x3watch.com/ you can download (one is free) a program that will keep tabs on his browsing and send you a report via email of any questionable sites.

Inappropriate? Thanks again! :) I checked into this site and it sounds like a winner! If I receive an email with a list of questionable sites, then there really isn't anyway for me to miss anything..
