Disappearing new mails (well, sort of)
Hi, sorry I gotta bother you guys with another problem. Love Thunderbird and Firefox, you guys at Mozilla are awesome :) Hope you can help me out with this. Tried to fix it myself but kind of ran out of ideas.
All new mails that I recieve appear for a short second, then disappear again, like they are passing by, one by one.
It's fairly specific and that's also why I can't think of anything on my system that would be causing it. It only happens on my gmail address, which uses IMAP, though I also have another IMAP email account, which doesn't have the problem, I also have a POP account, that one also doesn't has the problem. It doesn't happen in safe mode, but it's also not because of the add-ons/plug-ins. Because with all disabled it still happens. Another weird thing is that, though they don't stay in the Inbox, they do stay in the 'All Mail' folder, which you are apparently subscribed to by default when adding a Gmail address in Thunderbird (which kinda surprised me, why's that actually? I haven't got that on my WM PocketPC) not that it really annoys me. And in this case it might just give someone the clue what this problem is about.
I've followed the 'Disappearing email' topic in the knowledge base but in vain. Checked my settings, rebuilt the index, removed/added the account, checked if it had anything to do with the nature of the messages, or the senders, or the time. Also don't have a spam filter and also checked with virus scan off. Any ideas or suggestions more then welcome.

Inappropriate?hmmm, have you gone into your google's imap settings and made sure POP isn't set up to take e-mails you've downloaded and archive them?

Inappropriate?Hm, good one, could have been it. Sadly, when I checked:
1. Status: POP is disabled
2. Status: IMAP is enabled
Though it does seem like something server side rather then client side now that I think about it.
Gotta add that I'm using Windows 7 atm, switched over using MozBackup. I think it started back then though I'm not all sure.
Does Thunderbird write in the Application and Services Log or keep one of it's own? (I couldn't find any) Perhaps that leads me to a clue. -
Inappropriate? Is this like a known problem on Windows 7?
Does anyone by the way know of any diagnostics/debugging tools used for Thunderbird? Still haven't found a clue :( -
Inappropriate?I just started having this problem this morning... it's very frustrating. I've been using thunderbird on vista 64 for over a year and only now it started to behave like this. Any solutions yet?
I’m not happy

Inappropriate?Not Windows version specific problem.
Same here on XP.
I have multiple account with the same problem. The BUG appeared randomly but stayed permanent. The preconditions: Thunderbird-Gmail-IMAP.
A solve please!
I’m sad
