in the past few months i have begun considering switching away from tbird due to intense frustration with imap handling (gmail).

tbird cannot seem to download and keep any messages, cannot work in offline mode at all. even if i download all messages, the next day it forgets them. as soon as i go online, it loses any downloaded info and i have to resync my mbox (which does not work all the time - timeout and speed issues).

have tried all options regarding downloading and imap, but still cannot work offline, or when connection is slow.

either switch to pop, or to Mail ... or ... does anyone have advice?
