As a writer I regularly use Final Draft 8, which saves files in the ".fdx" format. Unfortunately, Thunderbird seems to interpret this as an xml file, so when I attempt to send files it appends a stream of xml to the end of the text, rather than attaching the Final Draft 8 file as normal. I have no problems with Final Draft 7, which saves files with the ".fdr" suffix.

Is there a workaround? All help gratefully accepted!
