What happened to the vegan meal option?
What happened to the vegan meal option? On the registration page, there was an option to request vegan lunches (which was wonderful to see, and appreciated). But then at the conference, there was nothing to be found, and the catering staff were quite rude. Without a vegan options, some folks had to either miss the lunch session or miss out on food.

Inappropriate?It's Texas. They eat vegans.
I had the same problem. I'm pretty used to fending for myself in Texas though. Vegetarian means chicken and vegan means cheese in that state, from my experiences there. -
Inappropriate?This was an oversight on our (and more specifically my) part. I thought the vegetarian options were also vegan but I clearly didn't read the entire menu.
I apologize for this overisight and I can assure you that there will be vegan options next year in Pittsburgh. -
Inappropriate?One lunch didn't even have vegetarian. They started telling people they ran out but I was there early and they were never brought out. Later staff said it was an oversight. Something to consider for next year.

Inappropriate?That is simply incorrect. There were vegetarian options both days (more on the second day). I signed the orders and I was there both days when the food was rolled out.

Inappropriate?There was definitely one day on which I saw no sign of a vegetarian option, and lots of vegetarians looking around for it. If they rolled out any vegeterian options they were very very few, and ran out long before most people were in the room.
