RPM in Production, RPM Lite elsewhere?
Can I have my paid NewRelic subscription for production, and RPM Lite for all other environments? (QA, Staging, etc)

I suppose the 2 different keys could be in the same newrelic.yml config file by overwriting the defaults, correct? -

Yes your assumption is correct. To clarify:
You can sign up for multiple new relic accounts. Create one commecial account for your production apps and one Lite account for staging, etc.
In your newrelic.yml file, place the license key setting for the lite account in your "staging" rails environment - you'll need to define a new staging environment if you don't have one declared already. Use the commecial account's license key for your "production" rails environment. Let us know i you have further questions. Cheers,

what would be even nicer is to have varying account levels for hosts in a cluster (which can not be eazily done with key change). for example, having a cluster of ten+ production servers, pricing becomes prohibitive. but having a data sample from say two of hosts in a cluster at silver level would be awesome -
