Nokia e71 only shows number when contact calls or texts, makes me feel awkward when I pick up the phone and it is NOT someone I want to talk to....please help

I know there seem to be tons of queries on this, but I've never seen my exact problem described so I thought I'd raise it.

After syncing with outlook, my Nokia e71 has a few contacts that it just doesn't seem to like, and whenever they call or text me, I can never tell who it is because it only says the phone number, and thus I feel awkward when I have to write back "sorry, my phone is on the fritz and doesn't know who you are. "Whats worse is that whenever I try to add that phone number for a second, third, or 4th time to that contact, it still doesn't work. I have tried re-syncing, deleting, re-syncing a few times and it still seems to hate these people...about 10% of my total contacts. Please help, I love this phone SO much but this is such a strange an archaic problem that shouldn't happen on such a beautiful piece of technology. I have seriously gotten 5 friends to buy this phone, so I feel kind of entitled to vent and get a response here...
