Thanks for your idea - its one that we share! Blogs are in the pipeline, so hopefully you will see them soon. We want people to get used to using teh current features on the site before we add blogs etc.

One of the ideas was that the small status updates could grow to be a mini-blog. At the moment only administrators have the ability to add blog posts, because it's a little on the sketchy side just now.
