questions pages improvements
On the questions pages it would be good to know how old the person's children are - 'what's a good bedtime story' will differ depending on the age of children and I don't want to have to click through to profiles.

Inappropriate?I was thinking something similar too. In fact almost all of the content on the site will be useful in varying degrees depending upon how closely you as a father are the dad who's added the thing your looking at.
I've had ideas along the lines of a 'slider' saying 'which age groups is this relevant to?' that defaults to the ages of your kids.
We could then have filters like 'dads of kids with similar age kids to you are saying...' and so on.

Inappropriate?Currently you have to have a pledge in order to ask a question about it. That can be quite limiting - I'd like to post standalone questions of other dads or even have (dare I suggest in this very web 2.0 model) a forum. -

Yes - and the fact that there are only a handful of pledges makes that difficult at the moment - I'll think about that a little more.
I knew the Forum thing would come up sooner or later.
My problem with a forum is that having seen other sites that use them, they tend to end up with long sprawling discussions that are impossible to filter for information that is actually useful on a specific issue.
What I'm trying to do with the pledges is allow dads to filter all of the other things on the site by their own criteria.
Sounds like the word 'pledge' might be too limiting but what are the kinds of questions you'd like to ask that don't fit in this way of thinking?
Someone else suggested 'themes' or 'styles of parenting', and then perhaps questions could be linked to both a pledge and a more general place too?
