Flipping from landscape to portrait crashes tvGuide
tvGuide appears to regularly crash when switched from landscape to portrait. And not just a quit-crash, but the nasty sort that requires a hard-reset to get out of. Are you aware of the problem, and are there any fixes coming soon?

Inappropriate? How many channels do you have selected? I suspect its a memory issue. The dev environment is way more forgiving of low memory areas than how it is when it is deployed. Interested to know how many people are typically using.

Inappropriate?39, but if I delete all my movie channels and a lot of the multi-channel stations so I'm looking at the main channels plus their strands (BBC3, E4, etc), I can get it down to twelve, and it does seem more stable.
However, it would obviously be better if it would work with the 39 I originally selected (and that's not all the channels I can receive - just the ones I watch from time to time). I suspect people interested in buying a TV guide for their phone are more likely to be the ones who have and watch a lot of channels (hence the need for a TV guide)
I’m more understanding, but still pretty disappointed

Inappropriate?I had to cut it back to half a day of listings at a time in landscape because of memory restrictions. If I made it so it more like 'paged' just a couple of hours at a time, it would probably cope better with that many channels. BUt would loose some of the cool factor of sweeping across the day.
I typically have 4 channels selected, and in NZ we don't have 39 available :-)
An alternative would be to support 'sets' of channels. We'll investigate more. -
Inappropriate?'Sets' of channels might be a solution; say a 'terrestrial' set, the 'movies' set, 'news & docs', etc - and assuming those categories can be customised (and perhaps swapped in and out from a nav bar), that would be an elegant way to handle the memory restrictions.
However, at this stage, a more pressing problem is getting it to display the right programmes. In the UK I'm 24 hours out, so I'm seeing tomorrows listings rather than what's on now. Image attached shows tvGuide and corresponding Radio Times guide for listings 'tomorrow'.
I’m thinking things may get better

Inappropriate? The title on the portrait view doesnt change, even though the contents change ( if you have pressed the right arrow on the detailed portrait view ) The overview page you see in your photo, should ALWAYS show whats playing now, the title part is working properly, the listings are showing what you last showed on the 2nd page. It is a bug. I will fix it. When you first launch the app it should be 100%.

Inappropriate?I have the same problem. Since we get Sky, we have a large number of potential channels. Reducing them down to avoid crashes is a bit disappointing. It would be nice to have something like sets as the horizontal view is actually really good!
I’m sad

Inappropriate? There is an update filtering thru the store that copes better with lots more channels in landscape. It has a few other improvements too you'll like. It should appear in the next day or two now.
The company says
this solves the problem

Inappropriate? Thanks very much - that is great news. I'm very impressed by TV Guide (and your NZ Weather program looks great too - unfortunately I'm in the UK!).
I’m happy
