Inappropriate?By providing OtherInbox with your Hotmail credentials, OIB functions like an email client (Outlook, Apple Mail, Thunderbird for example). OIB scans your account for automatic, computer-generated messages that are in your inbox: Facebook and Twitter notifications, iTunes receipts, weekly newsletters from online stores, and so on.
OIB will bring a copy of those messages into your OtherInbox account. Here, they will be grouped together by sender. All of your Facebook messages will be in one place, your Twitter notifications in another.
In addition, OIB will send you a Daily Digest, a summary of the messages OIB recognized.

Inappropriate?Because OIB connects to Hotmail using the Post Office Protocol (POP), there are two choices for what to do with the recognized messages in Hotmail's inbox: leave them in the inbox or remove them from the inbox.
Currently, OIB leaves these messages in Hotmail's inbox.
How would you feel if these messages were deleted from Hotmail's inbox instead? What if they were in Hotmail's Deleted folder instead?

Inappropriate?Solution: connect to hotmail using IMAP. Though you probably have your reasons not to do so.
Personally, I wouldn't mind if oib deleted my mail. Knowing I have up to 30 days to see what was deleted would make me visit my oib more often. Currently, I don't see much use to it.

We would love to connect to Hotmail over IMAP, but currently Hotmail does not offer that option. However, we are working on other solutions to connect to Hotmail in a way that makes more sense.
