Miro Guide Not Loading
Miro Guide has not loaded all day today. Once I got the update notice for 2.5.1, I thought that might take care of it, but no go.
It's just not loading at all. Even clicking on "open in browser" does not work as it shows a blank page.
Even the direct link to the Miro Guide page is not loading in Firefox, SeaMonkey, IE 8 or Opera.

Inappropriate?Figures. After not working all day, just a few minutes after I make this topic it starts working.
-
Inappropriate?Miro Guide say: Peer's Certificate has been revoked.
This thing isn't working!
What's with this program?
I’m frustrated
-
Inappropriate?There is no virus, I reinstalled Miro, I reinstalled Windows, the same problem. I can't even click at Miro Guide icon
-
Inappropriate?I am in China now. Can it be possible because of my location?
-
Inappropriate?by the way it was all right a few months ago, then suddenly it was gone
-
Inappropriate?@Artur Tsaturyan & @dasfox: No virus indicated; I meant Viral as in 'spreading'. I Bugzillad it and got the dev.-reply that there's a problem with the https-certificate. Something that will be fixed. We'll have to wait and see.
I’m undecided

Inappropriate?I got a reply from Miro:
We'll get that sorted. Our IT guy has been crazy busy. Miro is still going strong.
Get it sorted, sheesh what kind of answer is that?
I work in the industry too as an IT tech, when your servers are down you JUMP to it!
Downtime is crucial in the IT world of success, I guess in Miro's eyes, they'll get around to it whenever....
I’m frustrated
-
Inappropriate?@dasfox: Well, there's nothing as a 'free lunch' and we really don't know enough about it. You could try the less secure http://www.miroguide.com/ in a browser -- 'until sorted'.
I’m waitin'
-
Inappropriate?http://www.miroguide.com/ does not open in a browser either. Now I can use Miro to find second class videos and watch two channels only...What a nuisance.
-
Inappropriate?Isn't there any other free podcast video player on the net?

Inappropriate?I have been having this problem for half a year now, and nobody seems to care about it
-
Inappropriate?@Tsaturyan: Well, there's always http://video.google.com. Old and on it's way out, with Google Wave and all coming. I'm sticking with Miro though.
I’m waitin'...

Inappropriate?What's the problem with the MIRO Guide?
-
It's not loading, even after I left it for a while. I'm using Miro 2.5.2 (r9935) on Win7 64bit. I've allowed it in Win Firewall, I can manually add feeds and download but Miro Guide is not working. -
Inappropriate?It simply will not appear no matter what I try. Browser opens with blank screen also. Reinstalling didn't work, upgrading to Miro 2.5-git (cde70417) didn't help. I'm ready to rip it down, delete all database and start over. I'm running on Windows XP Media Center SP3.
-
Inappropriate?First Miro kept nagging about 2.5.2 then I install it and poof all gone. Great....
I’m frustrated

Inappropriate?The Miroguide is still not working... it's miro's problem. From Singapore here.
I’m not satisfied
-
Inappropriate?The Miro ShareLink isn't working either

Inappropriate?hey guys, I uninstalled the latest version of Miro and downloaded Miro 1, the very first version; still the same problem, guide is not loading. Isn't anybody from Miro staff reading these lines? Why are they so indifferent?
-
Inappropriate?While https://www.miroguide.com will not work because
Peer's Certificate has been revoked, as Gerald Cheves noted, the non-SSL version of the URL works. I found a way to hack the code to make it work. Please note that this is a solution specifically for Ubuntu Linux; it may need tweaks (or possibly may not apply) for other platforms. I edited
/usr/share/python-support/miro/miro/theme.py
/usr/share/python-support/miro/miro/databaseupgrade.py
/usr/share/python-support/miro/miro/prefs.py
and replaced https://www.miroguide.com with http://www.miroguide.com
Upon restarting Miro, the guide now opens properly. It would be nice though if the Miro folks either fixed their Peer Certificate situation or changed the default URL, however.
I’m undecided

Inappropriate?dude i've been using miro for a year and even support the team, this problem sucks, i've been dealing with it for about 2 days now, there is no plausible workaround except to wait for the miro team to fix it and release an emergency upgrade, I'm sure most of us have benefited from miro enough to wait for the problem to get fixed patiently, right? it is the best vid aggregator available after all.

Inappropriate?Try this:
1. in the "Sidebar" menu (on the right of "File" menu item) choose "Export Feeds (OPML)" and save the file where you want (e.g. Desktop);
2. delete the "Miro audio guide" from the "Sites" section of the sidebar (click on it and press DEL);
3. edit with your favourite editor the OPML file previously saved;
4. delete all the lines in the <body> section of the OPML file;
5. cut and paste the following lines in the <body> section of the OPML file:
<outline type="link" text="Miro video guide" url="http://www.miroguide.com" />
<outline type="link" text="Miro audio guide" url="http://www.miroguide.com/audio/" />
6. save the file;
7. switch to Miro and import the OPML file via the "Sidebar->Import Feeds (OPML)" menu item;
Now you should have two new Sites pointing, respectively, to the video and audio sections of the Miro guide.
Sorry for my bad English, I'm italian and, unfortunately, I don't write English very well (but, fortunately, I didn't vote for Berlusconi).

Inappropriate?No issues with Miro Guide loading here. Loading quickly. It's been fine all week. Both in the Miro player and in SeaMonkey and Firefox.
USA, Windows 7, 64 bit.

Inappropriate?Meh. Looks like they fixed the SSL certificate issue now. I guess I could go undo the https hack I pulled, but at this point, I feel like "why bother".
I’m amused

Inappropriate?No, Miro Guide is not loading. It's dead, the website does not open either.

Inappropriate?Miroguide.com is working for me right now here in Montreal, Canada. Both in Miro and in Firefox.
However, a few hours back, the guide didn't load but instead, showed a page saying that it was sustaining heavy traffic and gave me a list of popular video feeds to subscribe. -
Inappropriate?Both Firefox and SeaMonkey are loading Miro Guide just fine. So is Miro. My guess:
Like any other website, Miro Guide is just not available from time to time. Granted, this is happening to Miro Guide far to often. Which is why I'm rather shocked that a dev has not even bothered to post in this thread. Seems an issue worth attention, if you ask me.
