Same video not recognized as same/matching
Hello Miro Gurus!
I have 2 channels that ultimately point to youtube. One is a RSS feed from a website that points to videos on youtube, the other channel is a Miro video search. Both channels display the same video from youtube. However, Miro does not recognize it as the same video. I have tested that creating two video search channels from youtube does recognize it as the same video.
When revealing the file from Miro, the file name from video search is:
get_video-video_id=wJpUe6z9wB0&ip=71.122.201.99&si.2AE16C9D72C78BC1E04CDED3D82D2E6A534913E0&sver=2&e.flv
Revealing the file name from the other channel is:
get_video-video_id=wJpUe6z9wB0&ip=71.122.201.99&si.DFEA6277269483347F7207B650F53DCAEDF72286&sver=2&e.flv
So, it shows that the videoid is the same for both videos, but the long string on the end is different. This is a problem because I don't know if I have already downloaded the video so have to download twice. Any ideas on how to fix this?
Thanks for the awesome software!
John

Inappropriate?I know you Miro developers are busy working on the next version, but was hoping that this fix could make it into a next release. Any thoughts on this? This would really be a huge fix for me because I have multiple channels from different places that point back to Youtube but aren't recognized as the same video. So, I have download multiple times...
Thanks for your consideration,
john
I’m really hoping someone takes a look at this

Inappropriate?Unlikely any devs will see the above. This is like first line support... try the bugtracker.

Inappropriate? The problem is that with the rss from the website how should miro notice that the source is youtube? Comparing it with every channel generate from a search may result in overhead and slowing down the app.
But if the name is parsed with regexp and matches one of the search channel names the others could be excluded. How this influences performance depends how many search channels were used.
I would give it a try and enter it as an enhancment wish.
I’m ... only using this that all smileys were used in this thread ;)
