It wasn't possible, really, for me to pick an industry. I'm an information security and privacy (data use) risk manager. Not really IT, not really in a specific industry although the industry will affect which rules apply. I thought it most interesting that even without the industry designation my personality quiz mentioned risk management :-) Probably because I left so many sliders untouched with my traditional "it depends" answer :-)

Inappropriate?Risk management seems like a "subindustry" to us... what would be the high level industry there? Business management? I wonder if risk management is too specific. Would it be wrong to call it "Risk Management & Operations"?

Inappropriate?Well, that, indeed was my problem -- figuring out what to list as industry. Right now I work for a company that does software development. Previously, I worked for companies that were financial institutions so that was easier. But I am doing roughly the same work, just with changing rules that apply. Risk Management & Operations might well indeed work because I think the risk manager title (and work) will migrate to other industries from the financial arena as time passes. thanks for thinking about it, in any case.
