I just set up a wiki in 2.0. Since I already have an account, I was logged in automatically. Where do I create a password for other users I want to invite?
Hi we currently have a silver wiki at our university. It has been assessed by external moderators which means we need to keep hold of an easy-to-read version (giving external assessors the zipped backup will not be an option). We will be running the wiki again in the next semester with a new cohort of students. Is there anyway instead of exporting it - that it can be archived in web-space somewhere (putting it in a folder will not be appropriate because of the assessment element) and we can use a blank wiki - without having to set up a separate new wiki ?
All suggestions would be very welcome,
Thanks
Nicola
Firefox 3.5, that will be released very soon almost useless on pbwiki - on every page it gets Security error 5 alert, it is imposible to edit, comment, etc - always security error. Fresh profile not helping.
No errors in error console
Can I export my pbwiki to a standard format to import to another wiki? I want to experiment with my pbwiki content in another type of wiki, but need to export my html and files from pbwiki. How would I do this?
We have unauthorized comments in our page (http://ilsfcn.pbworks.com).
Apparently the user (Mariano Pergolini) is not registered but he can post comments. How can it happen?
How do I add a flickr badge to my sidebar? I have a flickr badge, a combination of pictures on a flicker account. It displays in a frame, several pictures and it moves them around the frame. I have the code for it, and I placed it on my Blogger account, but I cant get it to go on my sidebar. Please help.
So our business WIKI is 120 pages and I am getting concerned about getting an unmanageable nest :-)
As a developer I am used to the following reports:
- Orphaned pages (ones that aren't linked to)
- Used by (this page is referenced by)
- Complete list of external links
And these available as pretty html (see all pages) and raw text (delimeted)
I am new to PBWiki and may have missed that these exist already.
Cheers,
JAC.
p.s. didn't even realise I have moved away from pbwiki when I clicked support.
My students are using a premium wiki from summer camp. Is there any way to change the profile pictures on a student account? Since I'm admin, I was able to change my own, but not theirs.
The firefox spell checker does not work inside the editing view (though it does work when you view source, and it works in almost every form box - like this one). Is this a bug, or is there a way I can fix this, or am I doing something wrong, or what?
For some reason, the printing function is not working properly today. I was able to print out all the pages in my wiki yesterday, but today half of the pages do not get printed. Even when you look at Print Preview, the full page is not complete anymore. What happened between yesterday and today???
Let I am chatting with someone in Gtalk or yahoo messenger,
How can I find the persons IP address ,
I need to know only his/her IP address, because next locating the geaographycal location is simple.
Please advise me how to know the IP address?
I deleted a folder, and there was no confirmation that it would delete the files in side it. I have just lost months of work. WHY WAS THERE NO NOTIFICATION?
Hi. We are trying to create a wiki-newsletter for our office. Content will be provided by 50-60 people and it will be self-edited as well as edited by an administrator. The only problem with this idea is allowing multiple people to access the wiki at the same time, and enter information. When we send out an email letting people know it's ready to launch, there will be 10+ people trying to add information at the same time. I've noticed the system "locks" when more than one person is editing. How can I get around this? If pbworks / pbwiki can't help, is there a program that can? I read a thread here about MediaWiki but this seems too complicated for the small scale we are thinking - I don't have a tech background. Thank you!
We have a free account because we want to evaluate PBWiki 2.0 for its potential uses in Higher Education but why doesn't the product take a more granular approach to user permissions? For example why should *registered* users designated as 'readers' not be able to comment on a page? As it currently stands only 'writers' and above can do so. A commentator does not need to be a page editor so it makes no sense to associate this type of contribution only with page editing rights. I can think of many pedagogical scenarios where I may want some users as authors and others as commentators. Have I missed something or has PBWiki missed a trick here?
at the end of my email attachment has the letters PDF. I click onto the attachment and it ask permission to open, I click open, Acrobat screen comes on and no matter what I click onto I can't open my attachment. Can any one help me out there??
