Extra HTML Coding/Code not displaying properly
I have set up a wiki for my organization and it's been wildly popular. But there is a problem with the HTML coding behind the pages. When I look at the page's source because something isn't displaying properly, I'll see something like < / font > appear 20 times, when one time would do. Also, often times, even though I select text and try to change it (say, change the font to "arial") it doesn't change. (That's why I look at the source.)
Here's a sample of what I'm talking about:
<font><font><font><font><font><font><font><font><font><font><font><font><font><font>Username: naos</font></font></font></font></font></font></font></font></font></font></font></font></font></font>

Inappropriate?Hi Chris,
I'm sorry we aren't generating nice looking HTML code. When I run into a problem on a page, I erase all the formatted text and then re-enter the text and the the formatting again.
Try using our format eraser button

If that doesn't work well for you, edit the page, cut the text out and paste it into a Notepad or other plain text editor. Then copy the text in Notepad and paste it into the wiki. That removes the formatting.
I’m hoping this helps

Inappropriate?Hi Clif,
Thanks for your help! I don't see the eraser button ...? My toolbar goes straight from "insert horizontal line" to "insert plug-i.n"
Thanks!
Chris

Inappropriate? The Remove Formatting button is a 2.0-only feature.
Before we had this, I always recommended pasting into Notepad or another plain-text editor and then copying from there - an extra step, but removes formatting just the same!
