Michael,
(you may want to speak to your accountant, but....)
You could always declare the initial payments as Directors Loans, and then repay those loans and declare the dividend on the final payment.
(On that final payment you'd declare the overall dividend explanation first, and then the unexplained amount, now Money In rather than Money Out, can be explained as 'Repayment of Director's Loan')
Does that make sense?
Michael M asked a question in FreeAgent Central on October 02, 2008 13:27:
Combine dividend paymentsHi - I appreciate the way you're able to generate dividend declarations from my bank transactions but I have a problem.
My bank often won't allow me to pay the entire dividend amount in one payment on a single day, so I'm forced to split up the payments over consecutive days. This results in a number of dividend declarations being created, which is inaccurate and confusing.
I'd like to combine the payments to form a single dividend declaration. Any way to do that?
Many thanks,
Michael

A comment on the problem "IBAN/BIC numbers override" in FreeAgent Central:
As I recall, the problem with doing that is VAT is no longer added to the invoice. Since the work is done here in the U.K., this is necessary. A different billing address might be the solution here. Bear in mind I need the following on the invoice: a) Address of company in Holland, b) IBAN/Swift details and c) VAT. A strange combination, I know! – Michael M, on August 01, 2008 14:44

HI Ed
My client has offices all over Europe. Although I'm working for their London office, my invoices get sent to their accounting department in Holland and they insist the international payment details are present on the invoice.
I'm currently jamming the details into the comment field as you suggest, so this is not urgent, although it would be nicer to have them with the other banking details. – Michael M, on August 01, 2008 08:33

Michael,
We're looking into making this an Advanced option as you suggest. We're a bit unsure of whether this is something other users would need - is there a reason why your UK-based client needs them?
Anyway in the meantime, you could always include them as an invoice comment in the limited number of invoices for which they apply.

IBAN/BIC numbers overrideI need to include my IBAN/BIC numbers on a local invoice. I currently store these in FreeAgent but they only appear on invoices to foreign locations. Could you please supply an override check box on the Advanced options of the invoice generation screen?

I agree with Michaels comment. I liked the level of detail in the old report, which still seems to be available at:
https://mycompany.freeagentcentral.co...
If this detail can be combined with the new layout, that would be great.

Include comments on Timesheet ReportsI like the new Timesheet report facility but it needs to have an option to include the comments I so painstakingly add!
My Tasks are fairly generic, so I give them some context in the comment field. If this is missing from the Timesheet report, it's pretty meaningless to my clients!
Keep up the great work!

Yes. Now I see what's going on.
I have a client here in the U.K. who have based the operation who handle their supplier invoices in the Netherlands. They have a rigid set of requirements for data on the invoice, otherwise they refuse to process them.
I changed the address on the invoice to reflect these requirements. Since it's in the Netherlands, FreeAgent stopped adding the VAT on, which makes sense.
I've changed the country back to the UK and jammed 'The Netherlands' into one of the address fields, which means I satisfy their addressing requirement and I still see the UK VAT.
Unfortunately, this switches off the IBAN/BIC codes on the invoice, which are also a requirement!
I'm pasting these into the comment field as a work-around for now. The simplest solution (for me, at least!) is a toggle on the Invoice options that lets me include the IBAN/BIC codes on the invoice.
Regards,
MichaelM
