A comment on the discussion "Anwering question in forums on etsy?" in Etsy:
As an Etsy buyer, I get really angry at the union/guild mentality of Etsy members that everything about Etsy including customer service exists for the sellers' benefit. Among the Etsians who have helped get Etsy Inc. where it is today are the folks who buy Etsy products, and frankly, I find it difficult to believe the preponderance of Etsy buyers are sellers. The number of forums dedicated primarily - nevermind solely - to plain jane customers can be counted on fingers. It makes me so so so angry to see posts like these but at least it's concrete, explicit evidence of the seller-centered attitude that is only indirectly expressed on Etsy. – 48park, on March 07, 2009 04:28
A comment on the question "Regretting Positive Feedback" in Etsy:
I absolutely do not agree that transaction issues are "personal matters" - particularly as a buyer. I have had bad transaction experiences swept under the rug as "case by case" issues. Being able to revise feedback should be a universal option, and I can't think of how it could be seen as a case by case issue. I find the entire feedback feature of Etsy to be weak and significantly inferior as a buyer or consumer protection feature. Please don't treat things that should be treated as site issues in this manner. – 48park, on March 07, 2009 04:14
48park replied on March 07, 2009 03:57 to the problem "Vonage doesn't care about credit card theft." in Vonage US:
Why aren't you addressing this with your credit card company (ask them to change your card number, issue you new cards, and the problem is truly solved), and more importantly, why are you furious with Vonage, and giving your mom a pass? You are publicly calling your mom a thief, she has your credit card number which she can use at any number of other places and you're wasting time arguing with Vonage?
48park asked a question in Amazon.com on March 07, 2009 03:46:
What to do for a corrupted MP3 download purchase?I buy Amazon MP3s through my PC and laptop, and more recently through my Android phone with the MP3 download app. From time to time, the download is corrupted, interrupted, unsuccessful, and I'm out my money and my music. If you lose wireless internet signal, for instance, on your Android, you might as well forget the whole thing.
It would be good customer service if Amazon allowed for multiple downloads of purchased music - maybe not unlimited, but at least twice - since there is no customer service solution for this problem I have found. I am forced to buy the same music twice.

48park gave praise in Netflix on March 07, 2009 03:29:
DVD turnaround time can't be beat.Typically, our DVDs go in the mailbox, are picked up that afternoon (usually between 3&5pm) and Netflix has them by the next day - sometimes as early as 6 in the morning! That's pretty darn fast, and more convenient and economical than us driving around to a Blockbuster, to us buying on demand content for upwards of $4 from our cable provider to only have for 24 hours, etc.

A comment on the problem "Yelp cancels accounts instead of providing content warnings" in Yelp:
Give him back his "funny as hell" reviews? You have to be joking... If you, as the Universal Services technical and administrative contact for the website you conveniently directed injured party "Andy" to are using this as a free forum for chasing everybody who thinks they're funny on the internet and created content for gratis to which they gave the rights to Yelp as soon as they signed up for an account and accepted the TOS to recover the damages of 100 reviews - what's that, maybe 8-10 hours of "work" tops? - well, you're quite the crack team. Your post is being flagged as inappropriate. I hope you retain the rights to your content. – 48park, on March 07, 2009 02:58

48park replied on March 07, 2009 02:36 to the problem "WHERE ARE MY REVIEWS? IS YELP FAIR?" in Yelp:
Trust me, nobody is independently searching Yelp for _your name_ if you work in a salon, particularly under the salon you used to work at, unless you're pushing a client to look you up, which strikes me, frankly, as disingenuous. Looking you up by name is something Google or Facebook is for.
My guess is you asked/nagged your favorites and your friends (like Renee S.) to say only nice things about you - not exactly the total picture. You're frankly lucky only your padded positive reviews have gone missing, and anyone who is genuinely disgruntled with you doesn't follow you to wherever you're working now and expand your Yelp resume with some less friendly feedback. Incidentally, reviews can be flagged and removed by just regular old Yelp users who think the posts are bogus PR stunts - particularly reviews from employees - who doesn't say they love their meal ticket?
48park reported a problem in Capital One on March 07, 2009 02:11:
Capital One Doesn't Want Your FeedbackCapital One has no meaningful forum for customer feedback - complaints, compliments, whatever. It has always struck me, as a customer as an unhealthy contempt for their customers. It does not surprise me that they have no employees following these threads. If they had so much as an e-mail address or a web page for customer comments that would be a considerable improvement. It made me angry enough as a customer that when they sent me notice that they were planning on hiking my rates, I declined the rate change without hesitation because I know there is no one to discuss my concerns with. They will not be missed - maybe when the funny commercials stop running...
