Hi guys, yeah, it looks like we were naively optimistic when we said 'soon' on this, sorry! The challenges are not really technical, mostly legal and tax related. We've also looked at shipping from the US, but apart from the cost, shipping in bulk also involves customs so unfortunately it's not altogether straightforward. Sorry we can't help you guys out in Oz just yet, wish we could. The only thing I can think of is if you know someone in the US or the UK maybe they can forward ship for you, until we launch there?

Hi Gary,
Sorry to hear you're having trouble. Are you not able to submit a question through the Contact Us link at http://magcloud.com/about/contact? If that should be a problem, you can also send email to us at support at magcloud dot com, but using the Contact Us form helps us process support requests more efficiently so would appreciate you using that if you can. You can also post your specific question/problem here and I'll try and respond ASAP.

Scott, we're hearing you (and the others on this thread). This is still on the roadmap. Our primary challenge here is prioritizing this against all the other requests we've similarly been getting. We've been focused on a number of significant updates to the site over the last 5 months or so including a new Publish UI, upgraded paper stock, longer page counts, sitewide buyer discounts, bulk discounts for publishers, a streamlined checkout, and better help/documentation. All focused on helping make the publishing and purchasing processes easier and more affordable. And almost certainly there's a lot still to be done, including the topic of this thread And we do hope to get to this soon, we just have a few other things we are currently focused on first, including supporting European shipping, push publishing (as described above), tools and widgets for publishers to more easily promote their mags, and more detailed sales info for publishers. However, providing a mechanism for publishers to message with purchasers of their mags is close behind and moving up the list. I hestiate to provide timing because it's hard to guarantee, but you should start seeing this functionality appear on the site within the next 3 months or so. Thanks again for your patience on this and your support for the service, very much appreciated.
abolwell replied on August 22, 2009 00:11 to the question "3-5 Days "Best" shipping... really?" in MagCloud:
You are definitely not misunderstanding anything, and this is our delivery promise. Unfortunately this week the system used by FedEx to notify us of tracking #s was down for a few days, which is why your order wasn't updated with an associated tracking #. I apologize for this, nothing worse than waiting for something, and not having any information to indicate when to expect it. Rest assured we jumped on this and worked with FedEx to resolve the problem as quickly as we could. If you can send me your order # I will find out when your order was shipped, retrieve the tracking #, and email it to you. To answer your other question, a status of Completed means your order has been printed and shipped, at which point the tracking# will appear in your Order History so you can track it to your doorstep.
Again, sorry for the inconvenience.

abolwell replied on July 25, 2009 06:31 to the question "How does the subscription service work?" in MagCloud:
We've just launched a pretty major overhaul of the publshing UI, and the 'push' option should be coming up soon (within the next 3 months). We've already done a lot of work on it, and now just need to add the external UX/UI. I say 3 months not because it's that much work, but because there's also a lot of other features and additions we're adding to the site in parallel.

abolwell replied on June 26, 2009 01:39 to the question "Do you collect sales tax on California magazine sales?" in MagCloud:
Hi there, many of the questions posted to this forum also get sent to us directly through our customer support, and so many questions are answered directly and we don't always get around to closing the corresponding threads on this forum. Not to say that this was the case here, but just wanting to highlight why some threads may not have MagCloud responses associated with them. And apologies in advance for any we have missed.
On this particular question, as the merchant of record we (MagCloud) are responsible for collecting and paying sales tax on all magazine sales.

abolwell replied on June 18, 2009 06:20 to the question "Limit number of pages in Preview?" in MagCloud:
No, but can you say more about why you would choose to not offer a preview? Our experience is that full previews help sell magazines and reduce returns. If you're concerned about controlling access to your magazines, there is an option to publish as private and use a guess pass to share with those you want to give access to.
