Hi - thanks for the feedback. It appears that our new version doesn't hide facebook updates. We'll fix it and push a fixed version shortly.

hi - does this happen for facebook or twitter updates? if its facebook - it could be that people are commenting or liking an update, which pops it up to the front of the list again.

Hi - we did some research, and think that perhaps this might be the reason. The files containing information about the extensions may be corrupt. Please see the Mozilla documentation here. Please let us know if this works for you:
