I'm having this same issue in Firefox, OSX 10.5.5. I'm using Firefox 3.1 beta1. Not sure if its beta related, firefox related, AIR related, or Twhirl related.

For the last couple of days Twhirl .0.8.6 has started hanging after launch. It loads all the current tweets once, then after that hangs and does not receive any more. Force quitting is only resolution to get it to quit. I deleted all the preference files, to no avail. Nothing has changed on my system as of late so I'm not sure what is causing it.

I don't know if this is even realistic, but if instead of wasting all that paper, all exhibitors could get a folder on a CD or key drive with their messaging in PDF form or something, that might eliminate some waste.

Saturday night was somewhat dead as people were tired after 3 days of conventioneering and wanted to get food. To make sure everyone comes Saturday Night, make it a banquet with food, so people don't need to leave to go get meals. Additionally, throw the biggest name you got on Saturday night, then turn the event into a party after the speaking is over. With Chocolate Fountains.

More traffic for the exhibition hall.

Put the exhibition hall between the people and the sessions. If they have to go through the exhibition portion to get to sessions it will get the exhibitors much more attention.
