Enrico Foschi replied on November 11, 2008 16:06 to the question "adding tabs to a set" in Agglom:
Hi bender.
You can add any link to your sets or suggest links to sets organized by other users, if they did choose to accept suggestions.
If you installed Agglomerator, the Firefox Add-on, you can simply:
- click on the Agglomerator button
- select the tab(s) you would like to add to a set
- select at the bottom part of the page the set where you would like to add a tab (you must be signed in Agglom.com)
If you don't have installed the Firefox Add-on, you can click on the "modify" link on the set page (you must be signed in as registered user) and add as many link as you want.
Hope it helps
Please let me know if you have further doubts / questions.

No 1. Though I think it can all be done in one dialog box. See http://twine.com for an example...

Glad to see you appreciate this feature.
It has been released just a little more than one month ago, on 13 September 2008:
http://agglomblog.wordpress.com/2008/...
It works thanks to the thumbnail generation, another recent feature as well :)

@GEO: we are currently developing it and planning to release as soon as possible. The current version is on http://www.agglom.com/extension.aspx
@mixedbrains: the feature is already available: when you press the Agglomerator button, in the very end of the landing page there is a drop down list where you can choose the set where you would like to add the links. The Grid suggestion is great! How would you rather implement the "single line list"? (better discuss this in a new topic in the IDEAS area)

Love the firefox Extension! - Suggestion= being able to save a single link and choose which "collection" to save it to so you can quickly add new links. Maybe it's possible already?
Somewhere down the line, would be great to have options to see a "set" as a grid with screenshots and a single line list.

Sounds good. I guess I could have named the title something different. I will do a few mockups for color. I am no designer, but I view enough web pages a day to get some ideas. maybe I can post a few screenshots up and see what people think or I'll send them to you guys.
The green is actually growing on me, I think because it's different that the norm and I know that I am on your site. :)
I'll let you know when I do the tutorial and looking forward to more features.

@mixedbrains - thank you very much. Yes, your feedback, as the one from every user, is invaluable for us (seems like banal, but I ensure it is not). I saw your public content with 75 links retrieved with a custom query from del.icio.us:
http://www.agglom.com/agglom/37761/FA...
Your blog post will be really useful for lot of users. Soon (I'm speaking about 3 to 6 months time, depending on other milestones) we are going to integrate import features from social bookmarking sites like del.icio.us, diigo, ma.gnolia.com and from social photo / video sharing as well :). Your tutorial in the meanwhile will give the users a really useful work-around.
@lizbdavis: thank you lizbdavis, as well as we are discovering that more and more users would like to change the green color, seems like this will be a further change to do.
Changing the color is a pretty basic and simple operation but, what we are afraid of, is that we are changing the main look of the website, so that we have to be very careful with that. What we probably will do is to put in few days a demo-screenshot on the web and ask your opinions. Then, the color will be released with the next Beta 4, that together will include a bunch of major features as well (estimated time: 2 months).
@everybody: what do you suggest as alternative color to replace with the light-green in the main gradient?
Thank you so much for your precious feedback.

Cool. I hate to give any negative feedback to something so cool. But I am sure it's appreciated. Like I said though.. I am doing different testing. One thing I did was take my delicious feed for a tag, set it to 100 (there are 75 items in that tag of mine) and import the feed to Agglom! So I could get the screenshots and easily move around my bookmarks. I'll do a tutorial on my blog about it and tell people how I am using your site soon.

Hi mixedbrains,
the current layout has been studied with one great UI designer friend of us, but the color palette actually has been decided by me and, of course, is fully debatable.
Thanks for your suggestion. Maybe the green may be changed in light/dark blue but we have to be careful that as less user as possible will consider the palette ghastly as well.
Will get in contact with other users and the UI designer.
Thanks again for the feedback

Enrico Foschi replied on September 30, 2008 07:24 to the question "What link "Categories" does Agglom recognize?" in Agglom:
Dear xxxciter,
Agglom recognizes automatically categories by the type of the resources and every type is displayed with different level of details.
Currently Agglom recognizes:
- Wikipedia pages (displayed with the first paragraphs grabbed from the original page)
- Video from Youtube, GoogleVideo, Vimeo, Metacafe, ... (the video is directly displayed)
- Images (the images are directly displayed and, once clicked, a lightbox slideshow will let the user browse easily all of them)
- Audio / .mp3 files - (An mp3 player is displayed)
- Presentation from Slideshare, MyPlick, AuthorStream, ... (the presentation is directly displayed)
- Standard Links (the link is directly displayed with a preview of the page (taken with an anonymous account) and the meta description of the site (inside a "?" icon) for the ones that have it)
Thanks,

Enrico Foschi replied on September 30, 2008 07:19 to the idea "Grouping Sets feature suggestion" in Agglom:
Thanks for your lovely feedback.
We really appreciated your workaround, but I would like to point out that a "group" feature is already in development and will be release in 1 month time (according to our milestones).
We just released a new beta version: http://agglomblog.wordpress.com/2008/... and the next one will be the Beta 4.0. A brand new version that includes this major feature: grouping.
The feature will work similarly to the "flickr" grouping in order to allow any kind of usage (from "high-quality group of sets" to "personal ones") and will include a discussion area where members can share their ideas about the sets.
In the meanwhile, your smart work-around will work perfectly :)
Thanks,
Enrico Foschi
Enrico Foschi replied on September 30, 2008 07:14 to the idea "bookmarklet" in Agglom:
If that is the case, a bookmarklet will be released :)
Now, we kindly ask you (all) to brainstorm with us about the process. What we are thinking about now is a bookmarklet that once clicked will:
1. - Take the users to a page where they can select the set where they would like to save the link
- Once the set is selected, add the link in the modify page and wait for the user confirmation (click on "Save" button)
(this process involves: 1 click on the bookmarklet, 1 set selection on a drop down list + 1 click on the "Add" button in an Agglom landing page, 1 click on the "Save" button on the "Modify" page
2. - Add automatically the link to the current unsaved set and show a little report in an alert box ("The link has been added: your unsaved set contains now xx links").
Which one do you think would be the best choice?
Thanks for your feedback
Enrico Foschi
