Over 5000 Missions Completed! Congrats To The Akoha Community!Just wanted to say:
Way to Go!
To the WHOLE entire Akoha Community for passing the 5000 Missions mark!
We are that much closer to Akoha's goal of 25,000 Missions complete, in order for Akoha to build a children's library in Nepal with Room To Read.

Hi Alain,
Ok now I am thoroughly confused...lol
I don't understand the difference between the Top Players This Week and Karma lists.
I thought Top Players This Week meant the people who earned the most karma during the past 7 days. So that would mean people who have been most active in playing missions during the past 7 days.
If I understand what you're saying the 2 lists are actually identical in meaning.
Why have 2 lists then?
Maybe there is something I am just not getting.
Thanks for taking the time to explain the rankings!
Aurora

Hi Alain,
Thanks for pointing me towards that leaderboards page. Funny I didn't see it in the FAQ....must have missed it somehow. And thanks for explaining the "Most Interesting Cards".
By the way, the Top Players This Week rankings page does not seem to be working. Alot of the top players listed there haven't played in months - so those stats can't be right. Other people have been more active more recently.
Thought I would pass that on.
Thanks for your help,
Aurora
AuroraD asked a question in Akoha on November 07, 2009 04:21:
How Does The Rankings Page Work? How does the rankings page work?
How are the rankings calculated and what do they mean?
http://akoha.com/rankings/
For example, what is the difference between the Karma list and the Top Players This Week?
It seems like some of the players on both lists haven't been active in a long time.
And I'm also curious about the Most Interesting Cards list.
How are these cards rated? What makes them most interesting?
Is it based on how cards are hearted?
And is there a User FAQ somewhere that I'm not seeing that explains how this page works?
I'd love to know. I'm curious about everything! lol

AuroraD shared an idea in Akoha on November 02, 2009 19:09:
Post Real-Time & Virtual Akoha Group ListingsHi Team Akoha!
I've been thinking that there might be Akohans looking for other Akohans to get-together with, to either play missions or socialize.
I was wondering if there could be somewhere where people could post of any Akoha Groups they started/joined in their local area, or virtual ones on the internet?
I'm asking this because I would like to connect with more Akohans and I do know of a couple of Akohan Groups.
If there are any Akohans in the Montreal area, there is now a new Akoha Montreal Meetup Group!
I joined it myself recently, although I've been part of the Meetup Community for some time.
Here if the link for it:
http://www.meetup.com/Akoha-Montreal/
It would be great to attend real-time get-togethers with other Akohans through the new Meetup Group.
Also, I've started a new Akohans Twibe:
http://www.twibes.com/group/Akohans
Twibes is a group platform that connects people who are on Twitter.
It broadcasts tweets from members with keywords (like "Akoha").
You can send your tweets across Twitter...or just to your Twibe, to chat with each other.
Well, it would be neat to find a listing of these self-started Akoha Groups somewhere on the Akoha site.
Just a thought!
Thanks,
Aurora D.-

Hi Alain,
That explains alot. Thanks!
Oh I wanted to mention an alternative I did for a couple of Missions.
I saved a file of the Mission card and then emailed the PDF version of the card to the person I played the Mission with. The way I saved the cards as PDFs was by "printing" them to my Adobe Reader app.
What's handy about saving the Mission cards as files is that they can be printed out when I have time, and it's also handy in case I have a printer jam or if my printer happens to run out of ink when I'm printing. Also, I can print out a copy of the cards for myself, to say, put into a scrapbook of all the Missions I've completed, with pics of the people I played with.
So then, if I understand correctly, if I enter the email address of someone who is not part of Akoha yet, they will receive an email notification? That's great!
I do think it's super fun to give out the physical cards. They're neat and compact and cute.
One thing I was thinking about though was about how everyone is so concerned about the H1N1 virus and limiting contact with people. It's nice to know that if people who have that concern still want to play Akoha., they don't have to physically pass on the card.
I thought about this weekend as I happened to be sick and stuck at home. Playing Akoha was a fun way to distract myself while I was housebound.
Thanks!
Aurora
