Guy Fawkes (BANNED!) replied on July 21, 2009 22:46 to the idea "Offer private messaging capabilities" in Get Satisfaction:
How do you safely communicate private information between users with Get Satisfaction? Sometimes, for example, we need to log in to a user's wiki, and therefore we need to exchange email addresses or passwords. Lacking the "private messaging" feature used by traditional forums (or the ability to display a registered user's email address only to other registered users), we are forced to publish details in threads where anyone can see them. I know of at least one instance where PBwiki staff had to contact GS staff and have them remove private information from a post by a hapless user, who was not given any other option to communicate that information. I just created a throwaway email address for a post yesterday, and I have already gotten my first piece of spam at that email (which didn't exist before, so obviously spiders are crawling your site looking for this kind of information).
There are also times when I would have preferred to inform someone of a mistake privately, and let them sort it out and save face, rather than post openly about it.
How does Get Satisfaction recommend that we handle this problem? Are there any plans for facilitating private communications between users?

"how to insert a linked image"
Can't do it in V2.0 using the editor, there are apparently two tickets requesting that feature.
"adjust how text flows around the image"
Can't do that with the editor, either. Here are a couple of threads discussing that issue.
Both of these tasks require manual editing of the HTML source code.

Yes, you can easily hide the Comments section, by placing this code in a 'Google Gadget' plugin, in the SideBar:
<style>#comments { display:none !important; }</style>
Example here.

Why does the dashboard only go back 30 days? When reviewing my dashboard, looking for an earlier discussion about an outstanding GS problem, I notice that the dashboard only goes back 30 days. Is that crippled functionality deliberate, or accidental?
A comment on the question "How do comments differ from replies?" in PBwiki:
In the thread you refer to, Amy claimed, over a month ago, that "We are working to implement email notification for others who have interacted with the comment but were not the author of the original reply." So your own staff is obviously aware of the problem, *and* are supposed to be working on the solution. We don't need more discussion; we just need for GS to follow through on their stated goals, and fix it. Idle chatter is no substitute for actual progress, especially when GS and the users agree on both the problem *and* the solution. – Guy Fawkes, on May 18, 2008 19:17
Guy Fawkes replied on May 17, 2008 23:05 to the question "How do comments differ from replies?" in PBwiki:
Most people don't understand this well-hidden limitation of Get Satisfaction; as a result, I have seen many conversations on threads get derailed completely by this feature. This happens when Person A makes a reply, Person B comments on that reply, and then Person A responds to Person B's comment with a second comment. Person B never gets an email notifying them of Person A's response. They are well aware of this problem; it came up in a discussion right after they rolled out the new "reply/comment" paradigm. At that time, they agreed that subsequent comments to a reply should go not only to the original replier, but also to everyone who had commented on that reply. However, it does not appear that they have made this badly-needed fix.
It should be noted that, while you will not receive an email for these follow-up comments, they will show up in your dashboard.
A comment on the question "Put a forum on a wiki-page" in PBwiki:
Historically, if someone from PBwiki says it's not on their roadmap, then they have no intention of delivering that feature. In addition, they are very conscious about security, so they do not hurry when adding new features. If you have a pressing need for threaded comments in the near future, you would do well to explore alternatives. – Guy Fawkes, on May 17, 2008 22:53
A comment on the question "My comments are gone!" in PBwiki:
This behaviour has not changed in V2.0. PBwiki has never considered deletions to be changes, and they have always been pretty adamant about not tracking or reverting deletions. I feel safe in saying that they do not consider this to be a "bug". – Guy Fawkes, on May 17, 2008 22:42
