Thanks, Michael. I have added 'Badges' to the PBwiki Missing Features Wiki.
Guy Fawkes replied on May 09, 2008 10:22 to the question "Making money from my wiki with adwords?" in PBwiki:
Actually, Tamara, AdWords is where you buy keywords for people to find your wiki. You pay money for adwords. I think you mean AdSense, where you place ads on your site, and Google pays you. I have successfully used AdSense on a V1.0 wiki (see an example here. I have not been able to get tem to work in a V2.0 wiki yet. Are you using a V1.0 or V2.0 wiki?
Guy Fawkes replied on May 08, 2008 18:15 to the question "Why is font always defaulting to Lucida Sans in authoring?" in PBwiki:
Well, "Chuck", you should try some details next time, because you are wrong. The "font" button in the PBwiki Editor uses a span to apply the font; there is no way to have that span automatically generated and applied to page elements (the crucial part of my quote that you left out for your convenience). CSS is also a dead-end, as there is no way to have PBwiki automatically assign class or ID tags to page elements, either. Even if you buy their "CSS Support", you would still be limited to re-styling existing classes and IDs, because you can't tell the editor to automatically apply your own classes and IDs to page elements. Sure, you can use the built-in classes, and some of your page elements are covered under some of those classes. But there is no way for a user to have PBwiki automatically apply that CSS to a page element (unless it's already applied by default). The user has no control over that.
I hope all those blows to the head haven't addled you too much to understand what I'm saying here, Chuckles. Feel free to provide a link to a working example, if you feel that you can "have PBwiki automatically apply a specific font-family to page elements", without doing anything manually.
Guy Fawkes replied on May 08, 2008 16:15 to the question "Whats up with a page opening in edit mode?" in PBwiki:
It's possible you (or someone) created a link to the page by inadvertently copying the URL of the page while editing it. Look at the URL of the link you're clicking, and see if it ends with "?edit=1" or "?edit=true". If so, just remove the "?edit=1" or "?edit=true" portion of the URL, and try it again. It's a common mistake; I've seen users post links here in GS that had the same problem.
If that's not it, then Vu is right, you should contact support directly for assistance.

sbrandt,
I thought "Metal Sunset" was a Premium Skin, so you'll have to upgrade to use that skin, but you can center it without using the wiki.css, by placing this code in your SideBar:
<raw escaped=0><style>
#header {
padding:18px 3pt 0pt;
text-align:left;
}
</style></raw>
Example here.
Guy Fawkes replied on May 08, 2008 16:02 to the question "Why is font always defaulting to Lucida Sans in authoring?" in PBwiki:
It sounds like your browser's default font is set to Lucida Sans. PBwiki doesn't set a font face by default. Take a look at this page. The first 5 lines are the default font, and the second 5 lines have been manually changed to "Arial". Here's part of the source:
<p>Default Font</p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial;">Arial Font</span></p>
As you can see, the "Default Font" line has no font specified; the "Arial Font" lines have Arial specified.
There is no way to have PBwiki automatically apply a specific font-family to page elements; it must be done manually.
Guy Fawkes replied on May 08, 2008 14:18 to the question "Line breaks in PBwiki comments" in PBwiki:
Brian,
Let's say you were going to "keep product quality low". There are three ways you could approach that:
1) Break existing features
2) Stop adding new features
3) Stop fixing broken features
No one has suggested that you're breaking existing features; that would be absurd. But, PBwiki has publicly committed to the next two: no new features ("we probably won't be releasing any new features on 1.0") and no bug fixes ("we can't support old versions indefinitely."). PBwiki has also stated that there will be more more V1 wikis ("you will also not be able to create a new 1.0 wiki any longer") and that everyone will eventually move to V2 ("that will mean moving everyone to 2.0.").
So what PBwiki is doing (keeping quality low and forcing users to V2) is well documented. I understand that, as Director of Engineering, you personally are committed to producing a quality product. But if you believe that the connection between those two things has been lost on everyone at PBwiki, then I think you're being a little naive.
Now, how hard is it to stop stripping line breaks from comments? My naive guess is that it would involve removing two bytes ("\n") from the bit of code that strips out unwanted characters.

Yeah, this appears to be a FF-specific problem. – Guy Fawkes, on May 08, 2008 12:54

Donna,
I just created a page called 'Donnas Page', and placed it in a folder called 'Donna'. The page has no special security, and the folder is limited to Admins. Visit the V2.0 Forum Demo Wiki, and see if you can see the page in Recent Activity, or if either of those links let you see anything.

Donna, the original poster here is referring to the tabbed sidebar, a feature only found on V1.0 wikis. There is no way to remove the odious Recent Activity feature from V2.0 (as you well know). – Guy Fawkes, on May 07, 2008 17:50

You're welcome, although my hack will not correct the actual security problem, and future releases may break any hacks like this. You should file a trouble ticket with support so they can get the problem fixed internally. – Guy Fawkes, on May 07, 2008 17:21
Guy Fawkes replied on May 07, 2008 17:17 to the question "Change comment bar color?" in PBwiki:
If you have a Premium wiki, you can change the colors under 'Colors' in the Settings page. Otherwise, try this (in a Google Gadget, in the SideBar):
<style> div.comments-header { background:#EFEAFF } </style>
Example here.
